Game closing

I just started playing the deluxe version of Simcity 4 and it closed on me during the tutorial all of a sudden with no prompt or word.I was placing commercial zones down as part of the game guiding me and I am kind of upset it would crash so early and during such a simple aspect of the game.Can anyone else tell me if they have had similar closing while trying to play?I would really like some help about this.

Who knows why it crashed? SC4 is not the most stable game on the market and can crash at any given time. Chances are, something abnormal happened in the simulation and the engine crashed due to that abnormality.
Mods usually increase the frequency of crashes too if they're poorly made. Then there's known/unfixable bugs due to the the required action being locked out due to the EULA.

try turning off your hyper-threading cores in the Set Affinity menu of the game's process in task manager, if you have any
