Hey everyone.
I've played L4D2 on Steam for quite some time now with no issues or hiccups, however I recently came across a problem..
When I boot the game up everything starts up normally and I can scroll through menus with my keyboard no sweat... However if I try to use my mouse in the menus, the game takes a HUGE dip and starts lagging hard, and if I move it really fast it locks up for a few extra seconds in delay.. Its only when I move the mouse, its really strange, its a Razer DeathAdder 3500 DPI.
Why would this randomly happen I don't know, all my other games work great.
Has anybody experienced this issue? Maybe possibly have a fix or suggestions? Anything helps.
Thanks.

Sorry about the long reply..
Vsync is not the problem, I tried this a few times and results are the same.. I just dont understand how moving the mouse around kills the FPS, I never had any problems before until probably this recent mutation update..
Might have to contact Valve :/

Having the exact same problem mate, I currently have a 2.5GHZ quad core 4GB DDR3 RAM and a GTX 460 1GB overclocked.... NOTHING to do with video quality.

could it possibly have to do with Valve's recent update regarding raw mouse input?
What mouse are you using? Are the drivers up to date?
Obviously, Fisher, your PC can run this game without a hitch, so it has to be something else other than video. Check your mouse drivers.

theres raw mouse settings?! Aww what, My USBs are filled with interference (I know from interference in my headset) That could be the problem!

No luck, Mouse still lags when I move it. If I keep making circles with my mouse consistently the game will freeze, as soon as I stop, after a second or so the game will resume, I can move with WASD fine no lag, just mouse.
VALVE, FIX YOUR BLOODY GAME! (AGAIN)

Could you please pastebin a dxdiag.txt?
It may help pinpointing the issue.

Have you tried going into control panel, hardware and sound, devices and printers, right click on your mouse icon and choose mouse settings, pointer options tab and uncheck enhance pointer precision. Might not do anything for you but its worth a try.

Has someone found the solution? I've the same problem not only in L4D2. For example if I play Minecraft and move my mouse form right to left over my table the game freezes until I hold the mouse still again.
I'm currently using the driver that belongs to my R.A.T. 5. If I uninstall the driver, I got no problems at all, but a recent driver update didn't fix it, so I'm still stuck with hardly playable games.
Pls help, or request information that would help you to help me ;)...
