Anyway to adjust the resolution on the game or at least the aspect ratio?

I run Nvidia Surround and the game runs great in 5760x1200 but the aspect ratio is terrible and cuts off the top and bottem of the game. So i would like to at least play it in 1920x1200 any help would be great ^_^

I use a 1920x1200 monitor and the game just runs at that native resolution for me.

Right but native resolution for me is 5760x1200 this is the issue.

I loved Metal Drift.

Anyway, I actually never even dreamed about 5760. I don't have a fix (yet).

Thank you was fun working on the project ^_^

Metal Drift actually has the exact same issue at 5760x1200 but there was resolution settings so I could set it to native single screen 1920x1200.

Don't worry I have broken everyones game just about this year, Alien Swarm, Poker Night, Metal Drift, and now Aaa. I am sure there is even more games I have yet to brake but those come to mind =P

I was thinking could you make it so it doesnt force an aspect ratio? I am pretty sure Nvidia surround automaticly takes care of this. When I play Street Fighter if I force an aspect ratio of 16:9 or 16:10 it does the exact same thing. If I leave it on Auto it looks fine.

If you want to me to test any of your "Fixs" I will gladly do this for you ^_^ Just shoot me a PM and I can give you my email.

How about a command-line option to change resolution? My laptop can't handle this at 1080p...

same problem for me in eyefinity. Cant really play with bad aspect, cant set it to 1680x1050.

Contemplating refund request...(yes for $3, lol)

**Edit- I managed to get the terminal velocity achievement, but until an update Im done, this game won't be played again. Kinda a shame, because I think I could really enjoy this game. It's catchy, and fun, but simply unplayable in 5040x1080, and no way to set it lower.

I can't recommend this to anyone with a triple head, or multi-monitor gaming setup.

Can't you just disable the other monitors while you play it? I know it's a pain, but that's what I have to do for almost all of my games. Then again, I never tried to play a game over both screens, my problem was trying to do something else on my second screen like watch a movie.

its not disabling its actually setting my resolution down and it messes up my desktop icons and windows placements. Its something I rather not do.

Very very few games require me to do this and to be honest this is actually the first time I have had to do it =(

5760? O_o.

I plug my laptop into my TV and play at 3000ish.
Sorry, try the cmd line?

Got a similar problem - resolution is fine, but the game stays in windowmode. Any ideas?

IIRC, a stopgap would be to hold "D" to debug in windowed mode as the game started.

Drakon_MD is right. On triple head, switching between multi-monitor to single messes up the desktop. Also, as he noted, this is the first game (for both he and I) that requires such a work around.

I'm not going to sort through and re-order my desktop every time I play a game, sorry.

If there was a workaround for FOV, that would be awesome. So... is there one? For 5040x1050 I would need hFOV of 149. WSGF has a calculator for all others.

If the game wasn't so catchy, I would have given up on hope by now, but it looks like fun, and something I would actually play.

Cmon devs... it's Christmas (almost).

Ah I see, that sucks. Wish MS would implement some way of basically screencapping where all your icons are... some games really screw with my desktop when they change resolutions, especially if they crash midgame and don't restore the desktop resolution. It can be a REAL pain.

I agree but I would actually like Nvida and ATI add the ability to adjust the FoV in games and the Aspect Ratio even if the game doesnt support it. I know there are tools out there that will do this for certain games but will get you banned such as StarCraft II.

I just wish it was available in the Nvidia or ATI display settings.

Is there any definitive word on the future of custom FOV settings for "AAAAh"? Or at least more FOV/Res options?

No word! I would eventually like to add an option cube, but haven't done so yet.

How about just a way to set it through the command line: "-1920 -height 1080", etc?

Has there been any progress?

I would like to run this game in windowed mode in a different resolution then my native one. Seems impossible to do, can't find any .ini file that i can tweak.
Such a shame :(

Well, I actually came back to check again, all this time later, still wishing for a fix.

I was sadly surprised to see this was the top topic on the forum.

Fun game. Maybe aaaaaaa! 2 will have such options.

Another NVidia surround user here.

Yeah it's too bad the game goes into vert- , meaning everyone is limited to one single horizontal FOV, and if you run an aspect ratio like ours of 48:9 it basically takes the top and bottom third out of the picture and lets us see a thin strip of the middle.

A better behavior is to have the game scale the horizontal FOV based on how wide the aspect ratio of the display is, which would let wider screens play without getting this "zoomed in" effect due to the locked horizontal FOV.

EG: Bad company 2 scales the FOV horizontally, if it didn't I'd only see what's not obscured in the middle, resulting in huge zoom effect.

Maybe you could just add an option or command-line parameter for horizontal FOV.

Older games that weren't ever designed for triple-wide screen gaming can still be made to usually play well with the resolution as long as they have an adjustable FOV.

Here's the oldschool painkiller as an example. With FOV modded up to 150deg from 90.

I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon here. I've got a Radeon 6950 with Eyefinity set up to 5760x1080, and it's just not a great experience in this game. It looks awesome, but I can't even figure out what to do in the menus. Everything is cut off.

Eyefinity user here,
i gave up on this game when i had purchased this game with indie pack.
My native resolution is 3840x1024

many games have a work around or at least a resolution change to make it play on a single screen (which would be seen 3 times then)

anyways, i need to get potatoes so i installed this game again.
I was afraid of the experienced bad fov/unable to change resolutions, so i came to check on the forums.

All i was hoping for was to be able to play in window mode, a window smaller than my native resolution so I could see the top and bottom.

Im playing in window mode now thanks to this message:

IIRC, a stopgap would be to hold "D" to debug in windowed mode as the game started.

thank you!

(during load/startup of game, hold D)
