I found Machinarium to be a fabulous game. As I understand it, Samorost 2 is made by the same people. Is it comparably good?

I would say that Samorost2 is about as good as Machinarium but only about half the length. Samorost1, and the first half of Samorost2, are available for free on the Amanita web site; you can get a feel for them there if you want. Me, I played 1 and then bought 2.

Yeah, I found Samorost 2 to have a very similar feel. Not quite as good but worth a go for £2. It took me about an hour start to finish.

the only downside really is the length. Most of it is free anyways. Play the free version. The rest you get for your money is about 1/6 of the game. Not really worth it if you don't see it as a tip towards the creator(s).

(possible Spoilers)..............I like both, they make fantastic games. however of course they have their differences. Samarost 2 is pretty short, but unlike Machinarium there are no hints in game. but the puzzles are nothing compared to Machinarium in my opinion. And frankly I think the Theme of MAchinarium is brilliant and music to match. just shows how much progress they make. their games keep getting better and better. I resulted in Sam bcuz I wanted more Machinarium. there is really no comparison, but you might get your Machinarium fix by playing Sam.... good luck.

I found Samorost 2 really easy in comparison to Machinerium. Then again, Machinerium has that built in hint system, though it is a bit vague and doesn't direct you explicitly.
Overall though I enjoyed both, and the best part is my son who is 5 years old really enjoyed playing them both too.

Samorost 2 is very short (20-30 mins tops) and very easy. It's not a patch on Samorost 1 let alone Machinarium.

The puzzles in Machinarium are a lot better, after solving many of them I left pretty clever and satisfied. In Samorost 2 they mostly just seemed like a little bit of trial and error.
Samorost 2 was fun but pretty slight and notable mainly for the very cool visual design.
