I also cannot get Xfire to see the Steam version of MOH.
I posted over in the xfire forums, but the fix they suggested doesn not work with my Pc.
I am using Win7 64bit.
So doesnt any one know why xfire wont see MOH steam versions? (additionally, i dont think xfire likes the Civ 5 steam version either)

yeah the new owners of xfire haven't fixed the problem with the steam version yet. hopefully they will soon though.

I saw a post on XFire forum where you have to dig deep into files and overwrite some stuff in an XFire file and that way you can have it track your playtime, but that doesn't give you ingame chat, etc.

yeah i tried that, but sometimes i like to take ascreen shot, plus also Xfire has an ingame overlay which you can activate a clock. Very useful seeings i play in the dark mostly :D

I got it to work but I had to mod my INI file for it to work on xfire, and if you want to broadcast you have to switch it to DX9 over DX10, which was alittle annoying. Annoying that I felt as if I had to modify everything.

well thats it exactly really isnt it? why should the casual user have to go into editing .ini files?
Trouble is, we dont know who is in error, Steam or the Games owners? :confused::confused:

hi heres how to do it>> 1) Go to program data > xfire > xfire_games.ini
2) find the entry 6300 (which should correspond to MoH)
3) replace the 2 entries for MoH with this
Quote
[6300_1]
LongName=Medal of Honor
ShortName=mh
LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432 Node\Electronic Arts\Medal of Honor\Install Dir
LauncherExe=MP\mohmpgame.exe
DetectDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432No de\Electronic Arts\Medal of Honor\Install Dir
DetectExe[0]=Binaries\moh.exe
DetectExe[1]=MP\mohmpgame.exe
Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH%
_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS%
_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS%
InGameRenderer[0]=D3D9
InGameRenderer[1]=D3D10
InGameFlags[0]=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE
InGameFlags[1]=USE_PRESENT|USE_SWAPCHAIN|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT _MOUSE
RunElevated=1
AlwaysFullScreen=1
[6300_2]
LongName=Medal of Honor
ShortName=mh
LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electro nic Arts\Medal of Honor\Install Dir
LauncherExe=MP\mohmpgame.exe
DetectDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electroni c Arts\Medal of Honor\Install Dir
DetectExe[0]=Binaries\moh.exe
DetectExe[1]=MP\mohmpgame.exe
Launch=
_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH%
_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS%
_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS%
InGameRenderer[0]=D3D9
InGameRenderer[1]=D3D10
InGameFlags[0]=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE
InGameFlags[1]=USE_PRESENT|USE_SWAPCHAIN|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT _MOUSE
RunElevated=1
AlwaysFullScreen=1
4) Save the file and close
5) Open Xfire & go to Options > Games > not installed > find Medal of Honor
6) change to manually detect and find these files in your steam directory
-mohmpgame.exe (should be in the MP folder)
-moh.exe (should be in the binaries folder)
7) Now you've successfully told Xfire where to look, restart xfire and play

Cheers Klinky.
If any one wanted their hours played logged the above will sort that.
The ingame wont work, but atleast xfire sees that your playing.

Cant you just put a different .exe in there and rename it to the moh updater thing?
I've did that with quite alot of games, no need to edit ini's and I had ingame XFire most of the time.

I seem to have hijacked the OP's thread here. Sorry about that.
I'm not sure where you would get a different .exe file.
Personally, i think its something to do with Dx11 but getting an answer, or confirmation over on the xfire boards is not easy. Just seems to be the same guy (wondergamer i think) answering every thread asking why xfire doesnt work with in game.
