[ Utter Destruction I ] - Black Ops Fragvideo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=465sXnk2-J8)

I wanted to create a funny movie with stupid kills, then I noticed halfway through that spreekills were easier to pull off and ended up mixing stupid, silly and spreekills into one movie. Have fun.

Edit:
Here is a [ Preview for Part II ] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sWvA_MMYMw)

I'm confused as to the purpose/appeal of it being orange.

I don't agree with the music. Had to stop watching it because it was just terrible.

Is there a version without the orange and annoying music covering up all of the ingame sounds?

No there isn't as I didn't record sounds for most of the clips. I'll take you guys opinions about the music into account for part II, though, I didn't like some of the screaming parts either.

i saw clips of you using last chance and i think a noob tube @1:40.

weak sauce.

The colorization looks terrible imo. For some scenes ok, but the whole clip?
The music isn't really my thing either, but at least it's not gangsta rap.

Screw what people think about music. You'll never please everyone, nor even a significant fraction of people who will watch the video. Use stuff you like and you'll get more done out of motivation.

also wtb ingame sound :( Even if it's just fake sync of seperately recorded clips/shots fired outside an actual gameplay setting, it helps a lot.

Hey, that's good advice. Thanks!

The Frags at 1:50 are RPGs, no GL. And there was only one last chance in the entire video, don't focus on that :D

I actually was creating a long movie that was supposed to show some fun and silly frags, but then I decided to build in a "Zombie" part with some killing sprees. I ended up merging the two, hence the filters.

Edit: Yeah, in retrospect I really should have left out the last stand triple kill, though on the other hand someone should have considered shooting me there :D Let's see how the next video turns out

Bumping, some more opinions would be sweet. I need to know what to change in the next video, specifically in regard to camera angles and cuts.

Right :)
I just uploaded a preview of part 2, just with changed contrast and random music so it isn't that boring.
What are your thoughts about the camera work? [ watch here ] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sWvA_MMYMw)

bad music, bad blur, bad colors, no gamesounds, skillwise not impressed for a fragmovie also the duration is kinda bleh 3mins with non epic kills are pretty worthless.

on the positive side, at least the intro was short.

Yeah, the I don't know about the quality of the second preview, it's pure sheit either it's your Codec or the way you render it...I can't get into details, send me a PM and hit me up on Skype and I'll help you! ;)

Finally plays. I'll have to agree, there's something funky that's making edges really indistinct that you'll want to fix.

That's just a radial blur filter, I didn't notice how bad it affected quality in the preview window :D Just ignore it, I won't put it in the actual video.
Thanks for the offer though, zed ^^

So what about the camera work? I spent like three hours with just these few clips and still am not sure about the perspectives and cuts. Was that all ok?

I happen to like this kind of music...

But this is definitely NOT fast intense gameplay...

Blurring the edges is good, it's a very real human perceptive function that things are more in focus in the center of view than off to the edges. What I do (in AE, at least, not sure if there's similar functionality in Vegas) is make an Adjustment Layer masked to only affect stuff off to the sides, then bring the overall levels and sharpness down on that.

http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/7203/edgeblur.jpg

Obviously this destroys killfeeds and other HUD elements so it only really works with footage recorded with HUD off.

Cameraworkwise, I think at some points it gets a little too confusing to follow, and I'm a fan of limiting freelooks to no more than 1/3-1/5th of total run time, but that's more personal preference than anything.

edit: I'm daft, that's more or less what you did in the first vid. A lot more subtle though.

edit2: If you're doing a lot of freelook work, I might suggest investing in a gamepad. I picked up an X360 gamepad a couple of days ago and it really, REALLY helps for flybys. Even the slightest movement over time can help make freelooks a lot less static.

Yepp Adjustment layers is godlike, just not a fan of masking them but it's personal opinion, still I made this of Falks picture to enhance his and now
also my view of CC and focus point.
