The game will likely be on sale in few weeks, assuming we get another slick christmas/holiday sale like last year. ;)

The sale is coming

It is showing a 33%off now, which is $20 USD
I was hoping for a lower price like $10...

Maybe the christmas sale will have daily special.

question: is there the option for playing in first person view in this game?

and will I understand the story (if any) if I haven't played other Resident Evil games (i'm sure I have but a long long time ago...)

The game is in 3rd person mode and I think you should be fine if you haven't played the others. I missed out on RE2 and RE3 and I don't feel like I missed a whole lot. There is a lot of backstory to be learned in the game.

As you play through RE5 you will unlock little History snippets that you can later read in the menu that pretty much covers the essentials of the RE story. But the RE5 storyline itself stands pretty well alone... the only direct mention of something story-wise from a previous game that I can think of right now is when Chris mentions the "Kennedy Report" (RE4).

All in all, you'll be fine :) and as Forward Area said, no 1st person view available.

should I grab this 66% off? or wait till they have 75% ?

In my opinion I might buy this because I haven't seen good sales on RE5, mostly 50%.

I don't think it will be any cheaper during the sale. The daily deals offer the cheapest price point on the game. After the time is up the price goes up. You could be waiting awhile for to go on sale again after the christmas sale. I would buy this game, but it doesn't come with the DLC that is available for this game.

i think im passing I saw it for like $7.50 last year.

3rd person is turning me off to this game. Convince me.

Sounds like you're someone who demands every game is an FPS game, reminds me of this guy who was flaming at Dead Space for not being an FPS.

If you don't like 3rd person games then don't buy RE5 to be honest.

Overt.Enemy, if you don't like TPS, buying RE5 will just make you mad even if someone did successfully "convince" you.
