I was thinkin bout getting Left 4 Dead 2, but my computer isn't the best. People told me I can prob run it with like 25-30FPS and I know 30 FPS is the minimum for smooth gaming.
My specs are:
Os: Windows XP
RAM: 1023.5 (1GB)
Processor: AMD Anthlon(tm) 64 processor 3000+
CPU: 1.81 (Performance rated at: 3.285 GHz)
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 6200 Turbocache (TM)
-Memory: 256MB
-T&L: yes
-Pixel Shaders: 3.0
-Vertex Shaders: 3.0

I took this right off Systemrequirementslab.com. Also, here is the Steam minimum system requirements:
Minimum:

Supported OS: Windows® 7 32/64-bit / Vista 32/64 / XP
Processor: Pentium 4 3.0GHz
Memory: 1 GB for XP / 2GB for Vista
Graphics: DirectX 9 compatible video card with 128 MB, Shader model 2.0. ATI X800, NVidia 6600 or better
Hard Drive: At least 7.5 GB of free space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

So, how well this run? All replies are appreciated!

Well I have around the same as you minus somethings.

I run it perfectly fine with high graphics.

Tough slow loadings.

I don't know, but all I can guess is you will get low FPS.

I would say to get the game while it's currently on the cheap, play it on the recommended graphics settings and see how it runs. If it doesn't run to your specifications, minimize the graphics settings. If that doesn't do it, there're configs out there that allow you to super-minimize the graphics. If that doesn't work, you're just gonna have to upgrade or buy a gaming computer, if you're not computer-savvy.

Having said that, the minimum specs for L4D2 aren't really a good place to start when it comes to gauging if your computer can handle it. I had a four GB RAM, 3.2 GHz CPU, ATI video card rig with Windows 7 Home Premium that chugged during hordes and it kicked the crap out of the recommended specs.

tl;dr: Probably won't run well, but you may as well get it to have it for when you do upgrade.

A 6200 is not going to run L4D2 acceptably. Trust me. It does not have the hardware capability.

Nvidia GeForce 6200 Turbocache looks so old to me. You should get a new and powerful video card.

I bought a 6600 back in 2005 and in 2008 I gave it to my dad for his computer because it couldn't run almost anything at a decent framerate and all he needed to do was checking email...

I'm guessing with a 6200 you're not going to run anything either.

Im not really worried about the Graphics card because I have played games such as Call of duty 4, etc. where in minimum it says I need a Nvidia 6600 when I have play it with a 6200 turbocache in minimum, perfectly. And yes, I know that CoD4 specs are lower than L4D2.

There are no super-minimum settings for L4d2. They're all locked.

Nothing has been deleted. If you have question on forum moderation, they should be brought to an admin or moderator by PM. Not on the forums.
