Periodically pause the game.

I noticed while playing in Story Mode that you can still see the entire board when the game is paused. For those who are struggling with the Treasure Hunt objective, just pause, sit back, cool off, then get back in when ready.

Disagreed. You loose concentration when you pause. It won't help.

If I an urge to stab the programmer in the face, I just stopped paying for a bit. Getting close now. To the score that is, not hunting down and murdering people.

Try your hardest to stay focused on the game rather than how much score you've got.

Also, I found that I was getting very good at the first two stages then the third was my downfall, largely because of a lack of practice; what you can do is just forfeit the first two and do the third stage just to practice. Luckily on my successful attempt I was able to get 8.8 mill on the first two stages, so I was able to succeed with a relatively low score on the third.

When you think you'll miss the ball(s) because it's coming in a steep angle or simply because two/three are coming back together, just try to really quickly oscillate your paddle up/down or left/right around the general location of the ball(s). You'll most probably hit the ball(s).

I actually did this (paused the game to regain my concentration after each level), and I believe it helped me a little bit to score 11300k points.
Took me 6 hours of practice actually. I was really angry all that time, but after getting the treasure (was my 16th one) I feel so sattisfied... I really like it, so much emotions after beating something that is difficult for you =)
