I understand this game has been out for a while on XBLA, and I would like to see some user reviews from those of you who have already played it.
Tell us what you do and do not like about the game, and possibly compare and contrast with other popular shooters.

I played it on 360 and I can say that it isn't anything more than a poor clone of Team Fortress 2. Same classes (and character models in some cases), but with weapons that feel lackluster. Controls feel like a cookie-cutter third-person shooter from a few years ago. Maps are small and boring. The fact is that TF2 is $5 bucks more but you get many more maps and weapons, and with the Xmas sale coming up it will end up costing less than MNC.

I disagree wholeheartedly with eightohfive.
Monday Night Combat is a fantastic game. It plays like a tower defense game going in two directions from a fresh perspective.
I highly recommend the game, especially now that it will have Dedicated Servers.

agreed. and it just FEELS like a pc game anyways. TF2 may have started the trend, but this is no 1900's dustbowl genre game here. TF2 aint tower defense but now that this is coming to PC i get to see it in full detail rather than playing it on xbox with fuzzy graphics.

I respectfully disagree, as well. This game is the first thing to get me seriously addicted to something since the original Team Fortress. It is NOT a TF2 clone in any way except that the graphical style is similar, and it's a shooter. Might as well call TF2 a Halo clone.
However, if your favorite stat is K/D ratio, and you hate teamwork, and you don't like fun and enjoy beating puppies with dead kittens, then this game might not be for you.
Get this game. It's the best $15 I've ever spent on entertainment.

Thanks for the replies everybody. This game wasn't really on my radar at first because I don't own an Xbox but I was intrigued by the theme, so I'll be putting it on my wishlist for now. ;)

Each team has bots that try to penetrate the other teams defenses to destroy their moneyball. In some ways it's a competitive 2-way tower defense game but 3rd person instead of birds eye.

Here's a video on our official YouTube channel that explains the basics of the Crossfire gameplay type. http://www.youtube.com/user/UberEntChannel#p/u/16/eJrg1qc09UU

Its a good enough game that I will buy it for PC even though I already have it on xbox.

Regardless of the similarity it holds to TF2 (and believe me, at first I was protesting the game for it's similarity), once I gave the game a shot, it was a blast.
The classes and bots lead to an entirely different experience, and both modes of the game are amazing.

It's actually more like DOTA, HoN, and LoL, only in a 3rd person view.

Great game. Played it quite a bit on 360. Couldn't convice my friends to come play it with me because of joystick controls (can't blame them, shooters aren't the same on a stick).
Now that it's coming home to PC where it belongs, I can't wait.
As someone mentioned above, it's DOTA / LoL style gameplay from a 3rd person perspective as a shooter. Lots of fun teamplay to be had here. I've got some LoL friends coming to play as well, looking forward to the beta!

Sounds pretty awesome by all accounts. I'll wait to see some beta gameplay videos before I make up my mind, but I'm getting excited for this game.

Seriously? Then you must have lived under a rock in the past decade lol. Dota is a custom map on warcraft 3, and LoL is a remake of that map, except since its a game of its own it doesn't have any system or control limitations. HoN is basically the same but you have to pay and im not sure if its made by someone from the dota team (LoL is).

LoL meets the controls and perspective of, say, Global Agenda, and I love it. Was gonna pick it up on 360 a while back but I waited so long it apparently came out on PC, haha. As long as the issues get fixed (and hey, it's a beta, and not due out for a month, so that can't be listed as a bad point) I can see it having a good community.

Great game and great PC version, my only problem is the power of the Gunner guy, I've seen a few guys going 30+kills with him while everyone is still at 5-15ish kills apart from that its been really smooth, even the lack of Anti Aliasing hasn't bothered me, server browser is decent and when I get in a game with a -100 ping I dont get any lag.
Great game overall.

Umm I've only played it for a few minutes but it didn't seem anything like tf2 besides the art style...

This game is absolutely amazing, though the controls and GUI could be a bit clearer.
Also, I'm Australian, so I'm high pinging everywhere.
Still, once I find some dedicated Aus servers, I think I'll be hooked.
Simply amazing quality for $15.

That's probably because it's not. Anyone who legitimately believes it's a tf2 clone wasn't playing it correctly or is a little slow on the uptake. Most people who make the claim are just trolling though.

If you've got a solid connection, I'd suggest creating your own room. At least for the beta. That way anyone who is having the same problem as you will jump right in there.
I know there are quite a few people from Australia who play the game (from the uber forum) so you might have some luck getting all-aussie games going.

I ended up opening my ports and doing so to great success :D

TF2 and DOTA had a lovechild and I love playing it. Pretty much all that needs to be said.

I don't think that you've played this game at all.
It's not even the the same genre as my beloved TF2. It's a class-based third person shooter, DotA-style. The only connections are the term "class-based" and a cartoonstyle. But MNC's style is far from the 19th century advertisement style of TF2. More like modern cartoon-comics.
Never heard of those games...
WTF? How?

hi
after played this game for 2 hours , i have to admit that this game is very addictive.
first of all , it add a new point of view about dota like games, graphics are nices, sounds too ( but we need more ),lots of actions, maps are well designed and interresting ..
Till now i just played one class and it will hard to talk about class 's ballancing.
as a beta , there's still lots of bugg :
- tank can sometimes fire trought wall, especially at angle
- server broswer need a lots of improvement/correction and may be the net code.
wishes :
- steam players need more archivements
- some kind of anti cheat , may be vac need to be include
that's all i can talk about after 2 hours of playing but this game is a nice surprise

this game has so much potential.
It is similar to TF2, but only by nature of classes.
Great combo of 3rd person shooter, tower defense and FPS action.
we just need a better, more in depth tutorial for each class along with better button customization.
