This has to be one of the biggest rip-off scams on Steam, hands-down.

I am running this game quite happily on win7 64bit so it does work in some lucky configurations on the other hand i really wouldn`t worry too much about playing it,it is truly awful i can see what they tried to do but they missed the mark by so much even a nuke wouldn`t hit the target.

Ok, now I'm intrigued. I just tried loading this game on all 3 of my Windows 7 machines (desktop (x64), laptop (x64), netbook (x32)) and a VM for good measure with complete success all around.

Anyone having these problems care to post their system specs?

Defcon runs fine on my system without any problems or without changing any settings. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

And some specs for those curious ones;

AMD Athlon™ II X3 440, 3.0 GHz.
4 Gt DDR3 RAM.
NVIDIA GeForce G315, 1GB
1TB hard drive.

it isnt windows 7 but just hardware related (or drivers)
there are too many thing that can cause a game to not run properly

too bad i never liked this game either
altough it looks interesting enough

Maybe try getting your game key from steam and just downloading it from the Defcon website itself. Try to go around steam.

Hi saw a picture of DEFCON this morning so I decided to boot up my copy (I've had it months... It worked fine last time I played it) Anyway as far as I can tell i'm getting the same issues.

Steam Authentication Fails for no apparent reason. OP may have been banned for being crazy and inarticulate, but it's a real problem it would seem.
