Question for the experts - was the ToW MegaMod Pack of 2009 included in the Steam release in any way?
I'm assuming it is compatible but mainly for use in the editors.
I wondered if it in any way adds directly to the stock campaigns (ie because I see some of its' maps are also resident in the Steam install - albeit different files - detail upgrades perhaps?).

Any info on the use of or 'need' for this would be appreciated.

Theatre of War - MegaMod Pack

Battlefront.com and 1C Company have announced the free release of a massive ModPack for their WW2 tactical combat simulation Theatre of War. The TOW ModPack contains over 2.6 GB of free maps, weapon and vehicle models, and buildings which can be used to create countless modifications to the original game. Two instruction manuals covering modding basics (such as how to add new units to the game as well as about model and building conversions) are included as well.

No, it's not included since this content was intended for modders, it won't work 'as is'. I think maps are the same in the game, in the modpack they are simply not zipped into sfs archives to make editing possible.

Thanks for that info Sneaksie. I suspected that was the case, but compatibility was a question...

I guess I can mod some of the existing missions with these elements, & at some point I can try making my own.

Would really like to be able to have a functional BroneParovoz on the map, lol

There is a lot to tinker with in this game :)

so the mod pack is useless to steam users? does that devalue the games at all?

It's not useless, you can download it if you want, it's content can be used on any game version (but as i said, it won't work 'out of the box', it's intended as materials for mod creators to work with).
