View Full Version : Can't use cannons with new analog control!

Thanks for the analog control support. It's much nicer this way!

Unfortunately, it completely broke the analog controls when you land in a cannon (at least with my Xbox 360 wireless). It fires the cannon if I move the stick the slightest bit vertically, up or down. It's pretty much impossible to rotate the cannon without firing. Most of the time it fires the instant I land in the cannon.

I completely unmapped the analog stick from up/down/left/right in the settings (I just have Analog Move set to the x-axis), and it still fires the cannon when I move the stick up or down at all. I noticed that it doesn't fire from the checkpoints when I move the stick vertically - just from the cannons. So it seems to be something hard-coded in the cannon control.

Please fix this soon, since the game is currently unplayable with the controller (and I suck with the keyboard)!

Also, a tiny bit of dead zone would be nice for the cannons, since, when I do manage to stay in a cannon, it often drifts left or right even though my thumb is not touching the stick.

Hi, this is correct and an oversight. I'll add a bit of dead zone to the cannons as well. I'll try to get a build going with these changes ASAP :)

Thanks, you're awesome! :D And apart from the cannon bug, the control is really nice with the analog now.

The ghost is also a fantastic addition, since this game is all about tweaking and perfecting your run through the game (both to beat a best time, and to nail the flow of the path you need to complete some of the tougher levels). Like someone else mentioned, though, it'll be much more useful when the ghost starts at the same time as you.

Really love this game, and I'm recommending it to every computer-literate person I know!

It would be nice if you could remap cannon controls separately from ship controls. Sometimes I get the cannon lined up just the way I want it for some task and accidentally move it when I re-enter the cannon. Just would be a nice tweak.

I'll give it a thought, it's fairly easy for us to change but we'd have to add more mappings in the controller remap settings menu, and there already are quite a few. Thanks for the suggestion!

I had this same problem with my Xbox 360 controller too. Fixed it very easily by just using the windows controller calibration in the control panel.
