I read the help but I still not exactly sure what it is.

From what I've been told by some of the peeps here, it optimizes graphics settings while in game to balance out eye candy and performance.

I usually leave it off since it makes some of my games look like crap.

It enables crossfire if you're using two videocards or a single one with two gpus. If you're running a single gpu, then it's supposed to optimise your rig's performance but sometimes it either does the opposite or hurts the image quality. If you're running crossfire, you should turn catalyst AI on, otherwise you'll be using just one gpu.

I seen something similar to this but it said use advanced for CFX standard for single card..

Leaving it on uses the CAP (Catalyst app profiles) and allows AFR (Alternate Frame Rendering) for xfire users. Advanced would be used if standard isn't doing it for you. Off is no CAP and no AFR.
Most people leave it at default setting of standard.
There's no harm in trying advanced or OFF to check out the differences.

Which setting is suppose to be faster? Disable, standard or advance? I have HD 5770, I used 3Dmark vantage to benchmark between the 3 settings and the scores were inconsistent .

It probably depends on which mode your games prefer since they use different engines. Just fire up some FPS monitoring software and check how each Catalyst AI mode performs in the game you want to play. Don't forget to exit the game completely before changing the Catalyst AI mode to a different one.

With the exception of Xfire and AFR, you're not going to see any significant FPS changes either way. Personally I'd leave the whole CCC on factory defaults and change ingame options for FPS increases.
But like Rain says, do some testing with all 3. Don't be surprised if you run into a game that gives bizarre issues with it off.
