Some Questions

I already know all about the ups and downs of this game - so i dont need any "Dont buy it" comments or anything. I just have some questions for current players.

The questions i have:

1. For my friends and I to play together (ground missions and flying ships together) Do we all HAVE to be the same faction or race? Or can we make what we want, then meet up and begin questing etc.

2. How is the PVP in this game? (Assuming there is PVP, but is there ground pvp and ship pvp?)

Well thats pretty much the biggest questions i have, maybe someone could give me an idea of how big the community is online too.

1. You may quest with your friend if they are the same faction, (Federation or Klingon), but within that restriction you can make what you want and team with who you wish. Note that when you start the game the Klingon faction will be unavailable to you until you level up a Federation character a little bit. Most people have at least 1 Fed character and 1 Klingon character, so if you want to play with your friends you just log on as the character that fits what theyre doing.

2. There is both ground and space PvP. It is fun, but the PvP population is not high at the lower ranks, so finding a match can be a problem sometimes. Some also feel that there is a slight imbalance in PvP right now.

There seems to be a fair amount of people online at most all times. Earth Space Dock always has a bunch of people both sailing around in orbit and within the station. Im very rarely in sector space without sight of a handful of other captains in my immediate vicinity. That being said, it can be hard to round up enough captains to take on some of the quests that require an armada to complete (crystalline entity)
