Since these games were on sale, I decided to give one a try (The Haunted Carousel) and must say I was pleasantly surprised. Even though they are obviously marketed to young female gamers, I still found the game enjoyable as an adult male. Some of the puzzles are pretty challenging and the story was also very interesting. To my fellow adventure game fans, I would recommend this series, especially at the sale prices of $3-5. It took me about 3 hours to beat the carousel one. The game is rather dark in some aspects, since you can be injured or even accidentally burn down your hotel lol. :eek:

There's an IGN review where the reviewer (adult male) said much the same things.

My daughters play 'my' sort of games (Oblivion, Far Cry, Half-life, Witcher, Fallout 3) so why shouldn't I play theirs ;-) They were giving me heaps the other day when they spotted me playing Recetear, but it made a nice change from gory death and destruction.
