View Full Version : No Galactic Conquest for Steam users?

I have not been playing GSB for a while due to other games but I wanted to get back into it. I remembered that a campaign mode was being worked on but did not see the option to purchase it on steam (just more new races). However, after checking GSB site I noticed it is released. It is also apparently available on Impulse.

When is the Steam version being released?

In the New Year.

Because GSB on Steam is a SteamPlay title, Galactic Conquest for Mac needed to be ready before a Steam release can be done.

But there is no reason to wait; the Galactic Conquest currently available, whether on Mac or PC, installs into your Steam copy of the game just fine.

But according to http://www.redmarblegames.com/gsb.html the Mac version of Galactic Conquest is already available.

Yes, we released GC for the Mac just recently. But Steam has its own release schedule, and its own limitations on resources in getting new titles and DLC up and running, which to some degree is out of the control of the developer.

Is there a ETA on the release more precise than "In the New Year."?

Yeah, whats the ETA? Are we looking at 2weeks? 2 months? 2 days?

From each of the other DLC's, it seems to be 2-3 weeks, so perhaps new year might be a reasonable assumption. Either way, if its out on impulse and macs, we will have it in a month max, most likely a week or so.

I have to say... a few months later and its probebly the first time I am aware of people wanting to buy a released game but unable to do so.

Take our money Cliffski for a steam version! :)
