I DON'T have (and won't be getting) an XBox 360 controller for the PC, and I'm wondering if Bully will even let you use anything else.

FYI, I have a perfectly good Logitech controller plugged in that works with pretty much everything else.

Anyone have an answer?

Try out the program Xpadder!

http://www.xpadder.com/

It lets you use any controller for any game. Even on Windows!

Good grief. I suppose at least xpadder is a (SEMI) workaround (no analogue, still?), but what a PITA.

I put this thing in (not the vibration one it links to) and it seems to work.

Not working for me, maybe I don't do it properly...
Why this game is only compatible with x360 controller

I use a Logitech F310. Plug and play, Windows detected it as soon as I plugged it in. In game I had to switch from keyboard and mouse to gamepad. No problems at all.

In case you are wondering, Here is a link (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/controllers/devices/7360#section=features). I don't think it's as comfortable as the Xbox controller, and the triggers have too much spring tension. The layout is the same as the Xbox controller though.

I can't get either of these to work, or I can't figure out how to change it from keyboard and mouse to controller.. I see the controls options, but all I can do is scroll up and down through the keyboard and mouse settings. Any help?

Download X360Ce, open the exe and configure your pad with it.
It'll create an .ini and a .dll
Copy those into your Bully folder and start the game. Then it automatically recognizes and uses the controller.

im using the 360 controller emulator and i got it working for batman arkum asylum on steam, by dropping it into the batman binaries folder, but i cant get it to work for bully. bully doesnt have a binaries folder but the bully.exe is in the main directory so i figured that was where the xbox emulator files needed to be. also the xinput test works while in the bully folder. when i get to the bully control options it has the xbox 360 compatible option at the top but it is not allowing me to access it.

Hm, I just copied the two emulator files into the main folder of Bully ( E:\Steam\steamapps\common\bully scholarship edition) and then started the game. It automatically worked with the controller then, didn't have to do anything in the options.

weird idk why its not detecting mine. i can always use joytokey but i figured the emulator would run more smoothly.

In the "advanced" tab in x360ce, try to choose "Gamepad" as device type. Maybe it helps. Remember to copy the the modified dll and ini into the Bully folder again.

No, in the GUI, here: http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/8931/x360ce.jpg
After that copy the automatically updated .ini and .dll into the Bully folder again.

If I didn't hate my voice, I'd make a video tutorial.

In the past i used my PS2 controller converted to USB with xpadder, was always successful. But not with bully, no matter what i did i couldn't get it to work.
I just got a Logitech F510 controller and it works perfectly.

You can play Bully with a PS3 control pad if you own one. I was disappointed that it wouldn't let me play using my normal PC control pad

I have Windows 7 64 bit so not sure if it will be different for other operating systems but follow this from top to bottom http://www.hardcoreware.net/how-to-playstation-3-controller-64-bit-windows-7-vista/ Once you have finished....

Close the DS3 tool program
Remove your PS3 control pad
Reboot your computer
Plug your PS3 control pad back in
Start the DS3 Tool program
Profiles
Xbox 360 Controller Emulator
Enable

It should now let you play Bully with your PS3 control pad once you enable it in the Bully options.

Xbox 360 controller emulator programs should work. I love the Xbox 360 Wireless controller I have and have no problems using it. Only game I don't use it in that has full Xbox 360 controller support is SFIV. Prefer my Wireless Logitech PS2 controller with USB adapter there.
