View Full Version : Multiplayer any good?

I've looked at a few multiplayer vids of this game and to say the least, it looks as interesting as Bioshock 2's or even Shadowrun's. However, before I make a $50 purchase on a game I can't find a demo for, I have a few questions.

1. Do all classes have a way to regenerate their own health without having to beg a medic or Revert to stick to your ♥♥♥ 24/7? edit: Apparantly creatures get auto regen, soldiers have to rely on medics and health stations

2. Do any of you have constant lag or warping issues while playing? I couldn't find a game of Bioshock 2 where at least once an enemy character I was shooting at would randomly appear to the left of me and kill me.

3. Is it possible to find a populated game in less than a minute during the "peak" hours? In other words, if I were to jump in right now would I find a game?

4. Does the balance between classes seem fairly in tune, or in other words, are all classes useful for their niche' roll without one sole class, weapon or ability being able to counter all the other classes? Are the "Close Quarter" classes actually suited for CQC?

5. Just how customizable is each class ability and weapon wise? If there is an XP system, is it fair to say you start out or don't have to invest much time in a decent loadout?

6. On harder difficulty modes, is the campaign fairly challenging? I'm concerned there's some sort of borderline imortal gimick similar to Bioshock's instant healing health packs.

Thanks for yer time, I hope to see you online soon :D

The gameplay is part call of duty, part shadowrun and part bioshock. Humans can regenerate their health at medical stations, as well as medics. Creatures regenerate health slowly over time. The warping takes some getting used to, but it works quite well, and if you manage to teleport inside somebody, it kills them. I have the 360 version, so i dont know about the pc versions online community. All classes work great in their role and some classes are definately more dangerous in CQC. It is well balanced, but the human players need to stick together, like left 4 dead, otherwise the creatures will usually win. As a human player, you can pick between a number of classes, which basically differ only in their special ability, like teleport. You can also select your main weapon, and then finally a perk, similar to modern warfares perks. Creatures on the other hand, have at least 2 unique abilities for each class, as well as 2 perks to pick from. It takes only seconds to select a loadout. I didnt play the campaign on hard, but the single player was suprisingly enjoyable. Also check out ravens guide for the game. Lots of tips and info.http://www.ravengames.com/singularity/mp-tips.htm

Kudos for effort, and while this is obviously helpful, if I can't find anyone online, it's probably not really worth the money. Do people on the *cough* 360 still play?

I played the game alot in multiplayer on release time in summer, and it was alot of fun. Sadly last time i tried to play online i had the same problem and no matches were found. I put a gameplay video on YouTube and get alot of responses and messages that players dont find any online game. Maybe theres something broken or they just dont have any luck.

Heres my video btw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EShWiO3eAk

Anyway: the SP is great :)
