hi guys finally my GTX 460 is here !

installed and running

upgraded from an ati radeon 3600 series and i must say its amazing.

its factory overclocked, i had a super overclock edition but it didnt work so i sent it back by the time i reorderd again it went up in price so i just got the normal over clock edition.

the superclock edition had a control panel with temperature monitors and all that kind of thing, i see this normal over clock version doesnt any reason? and how can i check how hard my card is running and that sort of thing? thanks alot guys

Edit: whoops, just realised I read the second post wrong, I'll leave this first bit in just in case anyone actually care though.

By default the card should use less power when its not really doing anything, considering its a GTX460 and you're posting on Steam forums you've bought it to play games you might as well leave it on default settings.

As for monitoring the temperature, there are several programs, I personally prefer GPU-Z (http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/). Lots of handy information about your graphics card on it too, and you can log the temperatures to file (IIRC).

thanks yeah its for gaming and i guess ill just leave it.

im just kinda disappointed theres not more features with it.

the super overclock edition had a free hawx 2 game with it plus all the little gizmo extras such as temp monitoring and could set it to different levels ect...

problem is when i sent it back i thought my comp was the problem so i asked for a refund and being so close to christmas i tryed to phone up and change it but couldnt get through with the phone lines jammed,

so when i did get through i had to wait in a que of 30 ppl it was already processed and refunded then i had to wait 3-5 days for the refund to come through by that time the card had gone up from 150 to 170 and the normal card up to 150 again :/

ah well but the graphics are amazing of it wow its so good :)

Furmark will push your card to its thermal limit and display the temperature while doing so.
