This game seems unoriginal to me...

It rips off Oblivions loading screens.
It looks and plays like Gothic

Really, it's horrid :p I can't find one redeeming feature about this game. What am I missing?

It's horrid? How long have you actually played it? The game world is beautiful and unique, and while it bears some similarities to Gothic 3, it's not nearly as.... generic and buggy as that particular game. Instead of comparing it to other games so much, try and take it as a unique RPG experience and enjoy it.
