DMC4 keyboard

I just started the game and i cannot roll.
The tutorial says use the spacebar while moving sideways but it does not work for me.
After mass spamming everything i can think of i was lucky to get a couple rolls off but i dont know what the crap is going on.

Any help please?

No no, you don't get it. These kind of games are a HELL yo play without a gamepad.
Trust me, a while ago when I played DMC3 it was the first time that I really needed to buy a PS2 controller (the best at that moment), and when DMC4 came out I bought a 360 controller D:
Seriously, these games CAN'T be enjoyable without a nice gamepad.

you need to be targeting something If i remember right, or at least hold the button

but rolling isn't that important, simply jumping is the easier way to dodge stuff
