without a custom map editor defense grid is really missing out on community involvment to add value to their already great product.

imaging having the ability to create maps and imagine having hundreds of free custom maps.

think of warcraft iii and all the free content...

if i was developers i would work 24x7 to get a free map editor out to the community

now i've read what the developers have said, about 3rd party copyright licensing issues and about technical issues

well guess what, if people what it to happen they normally find a way

i think it has more to do with dlcs and maintaining control...

the same thing happened to battlefield series, 42 was very easy to create maps/mods for, then came bfv which was a little harder, then bf2 which was harder, then bf2142 which was even harder, then bc series you can't create mods / maps for... if you look the harder they made it the less maps / mods the community was able to create and release. sure they hide it behind things like controlling quality, ect. but it has more to do with control. if not even if they could not release an editor they would release the specs to their maps and the community will create a map editor for them :)

"i think it has more to do with dlcs and maintaining control..."

Probably true. Image if DG gamers could make there own maps. The HP team could pick a few each week for new content along with a leaderboard for each map. Alot better then waiting around for them to get going!

i have money making idea for them

in next release add support for multiplayer player1 vs playern

in addition to maps that they create and sell

release the map editor

have quaterly custom map contest

sell the top 5/10 maps as official map pack splitting profit with map developers...

why would people buy the maps, to play them in multiplayer...
