Double Pack vs Gold Pack

So I know I can gift any dupes of the HD games from the Gold Pack, but what about the double pack? If I already owned TFE and I bought the double pack, do I still get a second copy of TFE I can send a friend? I intend to also buy four packs for both of the games for friends coming over and I do not care for the original ones, really. So yes, I'd really like to save that 1€ difference.

I think you can only gift your extra copies with the gold edition.
