Hi,

I posted a thread in the Divinity 2 forum asking what is best: the witcher or divinity. In the discussion Risen also came up. Now I played a demo of divinity 2 and I´m not really convinced so I´m thinking about getting risen.

However, in that thread someone said that there are very few choices of gear in Risen while theres a lot more in Divinity 2. My question: How bad is it?

I do like shiny gear and I love when u got new equipment in your inventory just waiting to be equipped :)

And if someone wants to answer, which one would you recommend, risen or Divinity 2: dragon knight saga?

In Risen, you will be saving any penny to finally buy better sword (and also you have to pay for proper education of fighting with swords). It's true, there are not many weapons in Risen - but you have to earn each one of them and it won't be easy.

If you want many shiny weapons, then add Two Worlds to your list ;)

Hi! i have played Risen and Divinity 2 dragon knight saga both.
Well both are at first very difficult but gets easier later. Divinity 2's demo is not really convincing, i know but it gets hundred times better later and it has good amount of character customisation and weapons.

Few words about Risen: It has really good athmosphere and sounds and has good beginning but it goes little bit down after that. Well this isin't good game for someone who only wants loot hunting coz it has just few of each weapon class but its very satisfaying when you find new one. Same goes for armor and theres like four different for each ¨class¨ in the game. There isin't too many spells in the game either so playing as mage isin't too thrilling. Voice acting i liked a lot and theres Gandalf (can't remember the name) from Lord of the rings speaking one of characters voice in the game. I would recommend this game if you find it cheap and who knows maybe you like this as much i did. Just don't expect it to have crazy amount of stuff.

And heres some thoughts about Divinity 2 Dragon knight saga:
This game really surprised me. It was just random buy for me and i think this is very good also but could use some polishing gameplay wise. Demo doesn't make justice for this game at all coz its so much better than it makes you think. I must warn you though it will punish if you make mistakes and it might get so hard at some points that you might even want to stop playin so i'd suggest playing with easy mode first. Though its going to be too easy on easy its better than getting ♥♥♥ handed all the time.

Graphics are much better later on and you can find some performance tweaks and such on Divinity 2 TDKS section here on steam. Theres few weird design choices in this game as theres somehow no staffs or spears in the game so it funny to play with wizard with two handed sword on your back. Theres good music in game too and some very funny humour too. Theres not also any mage looking armour in the game but they do look different though.

All in all i'd say get Divinity 2 TDKS and play it for easy coz believe me it can be murder on many times on normal. Its longer, good humour, should satisfy your looting hunger, very good writing in books and in game manual history of TDKS's story (which i suggest to read).

Ps. I would wait on purchasing two worlds 2 coz its going to get on expansion on 2011 at Q1 and for now it doesn't have that much conten plus they left extremely big island on the map which shows on when you play singleplayer and you can't even go there! Anyway i'd recommend two worlds 2 anytime over Risen Or TDKS even though they are not bad games they still aren't in same league with Two worlds 2 thats what i think at least.

Thank you so much for this info! I´m getting Divinity 2 instead of risen.. definitely now.

Btw is two worlds 2 really out now? Can´t find it on steam and Gamespot says 2011.

Well two worlds 2 is out on EU already and i live in Finland so i have seen it on stores but i'm waiting for massive single player expansion they promised.

Game is optimised better than any game i have ever seen. They tested it on review with q6600 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, 8800gtx on max settings and it run with 60 fps and looks frigging super duper good (no words to express it). It has made some guinnes world recored or something by having highest amount of spells and skills in one game. It has 200 voice actors and cool looking fighting. You can combine every spell you want like if you have ice spells then you can customise it by adding AOE effect or making it shoot ice shards and so on.

It can be little disappointing to buy it right now if one wants it only for single player game. Theres HUGE ISLAN... Continent on the map BUT you cant go there except run the coast line and if you try to go inland you get teleported back to beach. So the big, BIG island is only for multiplayer. So there's not enough exploring for now and game is little bit short 15-25 hour.

If you want to know something more about Risen,Divinity 2 or Two worlds 2 feel free to ask.

About Two Worlds 2, Is it an mmorpg now or is it single player with some kind of multiplayer matches?

It is singleplayer with a multiplayer modes Which also sounds very interesting. The bad thing is there isin't any line on the map where singleplayer ends so you don't know if you can actually go some place on big island or little islands neart it. It has stupid design idea to let single players see the multiplayer island on the map all the time so it made many people angry BUT they still say this game is 9/10 game. Just to make clear You don't need to be online in singleplayer. Some people have visited the big island with cheats and its completely empty. Don't be alarmed for 2 worlds 2 for being secuel for Two worlds coz they are COMPLETELY different and 2 world 2 is just an amazing game with exeptionally good engine which is beautifull and is optimised perfectly. Only con i heard is publishers lies about content and length.

About Divinity 2 TDKS i forgot to mention that skill caps are lvl 5 only at the beginning and they can be upgraded up to lvl 15 later. Needless to say but if you max some melee skill like whirlwind it's a sure dead for any enemie close to you+ it has low cool time. You can with money rearrange your skill points at later which i found extremely usefull.
