Today when I try to play this game I was surprised by this lovely message...

Attempting to restore network connection. The game will resume once the connection has been re-established. Please Wait.

Seriously, WTF!!!???

Thats what the paying customers get for purchasing this game?

Same here. If I pay for a game I expect to be able to play it

Having the same problem. F**king Ubisoft. Any fixes for this, or are their servers just down, preventing me from playing a SINGLE PLAYER GAME?

Last night after loading 10 times it finally connected to Ubisoft's network so I got to play.

And then this morning..... same problem. Maybe that CD workaround patch that someone posted in another thread will help. Honestly, this is seriously crappy and unnecessary DRM when Steam does its own. And Steam's DRM actually WORKS for customers who have paid for the game.

I really hope UbiSoft does add POP: The Forgotten Sands to the club of games - Assassin's Creed 2 and SC: Conviction - that they've patched where you only require you to be online to ONLY boot the game up. (http://www.pcgamer.com/2010/12/31/constant-net-connection-no-longer-required-for-ubisoft-games/)

Sure, I wish UbiSoft would just remove the DRM entirely on Steam versions of their games, since I do feel Steam is enough DRM, if you ask me - but, at least they are making a small step in the right direction...
