Hi i know most people are in here as they have a super pc's and it cant run Black op's, But I have just acquired Crysis as it is now cheap and most pc's in here will run it with ease, got to admit its a fine shooter and well worth a look now the system requirements are easily superceded with todays hardware :D

watch out for memory leaks... Final level is impossible to beat without forcing dx9

Final level is horribly badly coded.
Also, MP is unplayable due to PB not working

Dunno, i had no issues finishing Crysis on my 4870 on dx10. I actually replayed the game because before i had a 7950x2.
Crysis is a prime example of how far PC gaming has advanced, and how amazing it can look when its done properly. It is still unmatched when it comes to graphics. And a 4870 can play this game at decent frame rate, a 5870 can easily give you 4xaa/max ress/high quality, and the recent 6970/580 can run this even faster with more AA...
Ontop of that the community has created some AMAZING stuff out of the sandbox utility.
Then you look at Black Ops...struggling to keep a stable frame rate....is it because it has a lot of physics calculations? No...Is it because it is graphically amazing over Crysis or even equal to Crysis? Hell No..
It's just a very poor pc port of the xbox version.
It's a shame Black Ops struggles as the engine is so badly coded on the PC, because the gameplay is a lot better over MW2, but MW2 had a better engine. I can even FRAPS at 60fps on MW2...

@FuryX
I have 4870 as well and I could not last 30 seconds on the last level without game going into slide show mode and eventually freezing.
That said aside from that (and lack of non-toggle ADS which drove me nuts all the way to the end) Crysis is a fine game.

CleanMem.
DO IT NOW! Memory leaks are useless against it.

Not had any problems with crysis or wars, both are great games and look far better than the latest console conversions we're getting.
If ya wanna see what PC's are really capable of buy these two games, they really are the last 2 'real' PC games we're gonna see cause I'll be surprised if crysis 2 is gonna be as good cause its for console and PC:eek:

Mutiplayer in Crysis Wars was soo addicting and took some skill, I would still be playing that game now if it wasn't for other popular games (Mainly CoD) decreasing Australia's Crysis Wars population. Now it's a ghost town :(

I am building a new system and I am also thinking about getting Crysis just to see how it will perform. My new specs are going to be
AMD 955 BE
4gb Ballistix Tracer
5750(OC to be a 5770)
Azza 850 Watt PS
Cool Master 932 Black Editon
I am going to add another 5750 in a month or so.
