Okay, am I just not doing this right?

I got several puzzles into the game the other day. Then saved my game, and saw a little screenshot thumbnail, so I assume it saved.

I load up the game today, and there are no saves.

It's not that big a deal to get back to where I was. No one could have deleted the save, as I am the only one who uses this computer.

What I need to know is if there is some thing I did not do when I saved. I brought up the save section from the bottom area, and clicked save, and clicked on a section to save in. Is there anything else I needed to do other than that?

No, that should have saved it. Did for me.

Others have said here that they have had problems when running Avast! antivirus, which apparently mistakes some Machinarium saves for viruses. If you use Avast!, particularly the Pro version that will scan overnight, you might look for something in the virus chest...

Please go to this (http://machinarium.net/forum/index.php/topic,463.0.html) thread and read the comments too. One of them had the solution on how to keep the savegames ;).

CCleaner deleted my save, because it is just a flashcookie.

Add the folder to exeptions if you use CCleaner.

That could be the problem, too. I'll make sure to add that folder to exceptions in CCleaner. I habitually use that every day.
