Hey, I saw another thread where a few people were having difficulty activating their mice for use on the game. I was having the same problem, when I discovered that the reason for it was that I was pressing left mouse for "ok."
What you really want to do is select mouse, and right click for back. This will take you back to the menu, and you can use your mouse. However, even at the highest response, I will suggest using the keyboard over the mouse. It does not respond well for movement, and so I would say avoid it. But if you have to use it, and can't figure it out...there you go.

I also cannot activate the mouse, I enter in the game but my gestures are not read, nothing happens.

If the mouse is configured correctly (the correct mouse selected or switched to DirectInput if the other one doesnt work) you should be able to use the menu via mousewheel and the 3 buttons. Sorry for not making a mouse cursor, mouse players tend to use the keyboard for that anyway.

Are you sure you've selected the mouse as your controller,Cosmin? If it's still showing the keyboard options when you go into options, then you're using the keyboard. But, I have to say I've tried it with the mouse and I prefer the keyboard for movement. Then again, I'm not very good at this game :P

Just wanted to say thanks to Vohn_exel for this help.
I've been baffled by lack of mouse control since getting the game and it's one of the main reasons I haven't spent much time playing it.
Simon, wouldn't it be possible for the game to accept both mouse and keyboard input from the start? Would definitely help those of us who default to mouse control at the beginning of the cryptic (though charming) tutorial. Failing that, an easier to follow config menu would be good (like radio buttons for mouse / keyboard control perhaps).
