I recently purchased F-22, F-16, and MiG-29 as part of a NovaLogic pack here on Steam. F-22 is working just fine on my Windows 7 machine, but I'm having frame rate problems when I try to run F-16 and MiG-29. When trying to adjust the video settings in the main menu, F-22 gives me 2 options to choose from under "3D Card Driver": "3Dfx Voodoo (Glide)" or "Direct3D using Directx6." When I select the Voodoo option, F-22 also experiences the same frame rate problems, but when I switch to the Directx6 option, it runs much more smoothly.

The problem is that in the menu for both F-16 and MiG-29, there is only one option under "3D Card Driver": just "3Dfx Voodoo1/Voodoo2." Stuck with only this one option, both games have terrible FPS and are basically unplayable. Is there any way for me to update the driver list in F-16 and MiG-29 so that I can get the Directx option like I have in F-22?

I've already tried downloading and installing the updates for these games through NovaLogic's website in the hopes that they would help. Unfortunately, when the updates modify the .exe file, I am unable to start the game; an error box pops up and says I need to insert the CD (which I don't have, since I run the games through Steam).

Any help, solutions, or workarounds would be great, thanks in advance!

My suggestion would be to install a glide wrapper like nglide so you can run emulated native 3dfx mode.

Download "Glide2x.dll" from http://worldibs.stgeorgepcrepair.com/download/Glide2x.rar

Place it inside of your F16 install folder (where the .exe is located). Now open the game and goto video options and you should be able to turn on hardware acceleration now (3dfx)

It's a glide wrapper that was made specifically for this game.
