Game asks for CD

I downloaded a pantch from here - http://www.lucasarts.com/support/update/KotOR.html
and after that game asks for CD.

Does somebody know how to fix it?

Did you use a retail patch on the steam version?

Now the game "thinks" it's the retail version and that's why it asks for CD. Try to fix it by verifying game files. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you will have to delete local game content and redownload it (unless you have a backup).

Thank you a lot for the advice and for link) Verifying helped, at least now I can get into the game. Though it still crushes even with that patch =\

Did you check all the possible fix solutions posted on the forum?

I tried a few but they didnt work.

I found that it would be easy to send my last save to my friend, who could pass the crushing moment for me and give me saves after that.

So far game going fine. From time to time, it kicks me to the windows table, but its something i could get alone with.
