Long QuickSave/Load Time

I know there has been documentation in reviews about this problem but I feel my quick saves take longer than even reviews mention. When I quicksave, it takes on average 11 seconds between pressing F5 (my assigned key) and when the message box disappears. I was wondering if this is normal, and what everyone else's experiences were. Thanks!

Edit: I should mention that my system is up to date enough to run everything on the highest settings with no frame rate issues. Thus, I don't believe it to be a system bottleneck.

Nah, it's rare for a CPU or graphics card to be the bottleneck in anything involving a hard drive. It's pretty much always the hard drive's issue.

How long since you defragged your hard drive(s)?

I set my harddrive to defrag pretty regularly, at least once a week. Just curious, how long are your quick save/quick load times? Thanks again.

Quicksaving takes a noticeable number of seconds on my computer as well. I think that is just normal for this game.

Sigh, really wish there was something that could be done about it, patch, mod, etc. At first I wondered if it was a Steam thing, but all my other steam games work fine so I pretty much got rid of that idea. Kinda annoyed I bought the game, I tried the demo for this reason, but the quick saving there was so much faster, I'm guessing due to the limited world size. 1-3 would be ok, even 5 seconds would be tolerable but 10 seconds, maybe 8 on a good save is just horrible for an open world rpg like this where you can get killed so easily.

Quicksave and autosave take... 3 seconds for me. I'm saving to an SSD drive, though.

I have an SSD as well and was shocked by the save and load times. Most games now quick save in the background so it doesn't interrupt plat at all.

My quick saves take about double the time of the autosave in Zloth's youtube clip.

My quicksaves/autosaves takes about 3-4 secs. I do find it mildly annoying as it is more than most other games. I think that they should fix it if it's possible to patch.

Most games are a lot faster because most games don't save as much stuff. I'm at level 30 and I've almost hit 3 meg per save file. They could always shrink those down but then you might see dungeons repopulate two seconds after you walk out the door.
