View Full Version : "One in the chamber" mod for CSS?

So i know CoD copied our Gun Game, but why shouldn't we copy something from CoD? Cuz it looks like the gun game is rly fun, i never played it. (Never touched CoD, Battlefield FTW)

Is there already a mod like this? Or someone working on it? would be nice

The GunGame in CoD is basically the same, but with just 20 weapons and you don't level up by knfing (but the victim still loses a level).
The One in the Chamber gamemode is something i'd like to play on CSS as well, to be honest, but the round would be WAY too short, unless you want to turn it into a pistol OSK deathmatch.

As someone who hasn't played any of the newer CoD games, could you please describe this "one in the chamber"? Something 'might' already exist, but I need to know what it exactly is before searching. I could also work on making one (if I'm interested in doing so) if I cannot find anything.

Ok, I have read up on it, and I don't believe it currently exists. I think this sounds interesting, so I'll give it a shot. I'll post back here when I get a working version.

OIC is like this.
Everybody starts with a gun with 1 bullet. You kill someone, you get a new bullet. If you miss with your bullet, you have to use your knife.

You can have 3 bullets at max at one point (if you kill 2 people with knife and dont use the first bullet).

Everybody also has 3 lifes, and the "task" is to kill the most people. when everybody except one has died 3 times, the one with most kills win.

And it does not escist in CSS. Would have been fun tho!

For that you'd need wicked headshot skills, better than most players. CSS has lower accuracy/damage than COD.

I have a version of it, but I haven't had time to test. You will be able to set which weapon you want as a cvar. The value is taken at round_start, so if you change it during the round, it won't take effect until the next round. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a chance to test it.

time because it dosent requires to charge a weapon...

but hell you pull the forward assisr (instead of charging handle) of the M4
everytime you deploy it...

and you charge a weapon everytime you deploy it...
meaning if I deployed an AK47 31 times the magazine would be empty

One quick question guys. Again, I have never played the newer CoD games. Does 1 shot "always" kill the victim, or should it just do normal damage? Just need to know if I need to do something to make sure that 1 shot = kill or not in the mod. Haven't had a chance to test it yet, but I will sometime today.

Hey, I decided to quickly code this mod and test it.

So far what I've completed in this mod is:
1) Give you a weapon specified in a cvar (default deagle).
2) Set you to 1 bullet only at spawn.
3) Set your health to 1 for now. I'll might change this due to knifing, but we'll see how it goes.
4) It will give you 1 bullet for every person you kill. (Max 3 bullets)
5) Dropping disabled.

Right now what I'd have to do to get it just like Black Ops is:
1) Setup a respawn system so that you'll have 3 lives.
2) Setup a scoring system.
3) Make it FFA.

I am looking for testers to give me feedback. The requirements are that you've play Black Ops' One in the Chamber.

I've got a semi-working version ready. There is an error that is being thrown on round_start that I need to track down before I release it.

Features include: weapon specified in cvar (must be a primary or secondary weapon)
set to 1 bullet on spawn
earn 1 bullet for kill (cvar used for Max amount)
for now, health set to 1next version will have a couple different ways instead
you will be able to choose via cvar Disables buyzones
Disables being able to pick up other weapons
Disables 'dropping' your weapon
Respawns you up to X amount of lives (cvar to set amount)
Cvars for allowing Smokenades and Flashbangs
HEGrenades are disallowed

There is no scoring system. If someone could explain what that might look like, I could add it in. Currently no FFA, but I 'might' look to add that in in the future.

Have you tried either mod? You can test his by going onto his server. I released mine a few days ago. Please go to the forum link as there is an issue with the newest EventScripts version that will cause any changes to your cfg file to not take effect. You can find the fix by looking at the forum thread. Please feel free to post any suggestions/issues there for mine.

I can't speak for Kigen, but I believe his is a SourceMod script and I'm guessing he'll release it after he has fully tested it. So, if you already have SourceMod or you prefer SM over ES, feel free to use his once it is released. If you prefer ES or at least already have ES installed, please feel free to use mine and post suggestions/issues on the EventScripts forum thread I linked to.

If you click the link to the Download page for mine, it also has a link on that page to find "Servers running this addon". Currently it seems to only be on 1 server that is hosted in the Netherlands.

Ya, my mod is based in Source Mod. ( Kigen's Anti-Cheat anyone? :P )

I've been working on the radar, trying to make it function the way I want it to but it is a bit harder since CS:S was designed for one type of gameplay.

It was fun playing with yall earlier this morning!

Perhaps you all should incorporate mp_fadetoblack after you die so enemies can't find where you shot them. Also perhaps add some user vote options such as changing the gun, changing the map, or just kicking/temp banning people.

changing map and votekicking/votebanning is an option of sourcemod/sm_admin (or Mani etc).

vote for changing gun could be an option, but the server admin can change the default OITC gun in a config (at least in Satoons version).

That is a bug in CS:S.

Add server to favorites.
Restart CS:S.
Join button shouldn't be faded out anymore.

But if all else fails you can use the console and type "connect 174.37.90.168:27017".

Or just click: steam://connect/174.37.90.168:27017

The best advertisement is to get on the server and invite friends. :) People often will join a server when they see other people playing on that server.

Doesn't look like much, it's a COD mode, that says it.

JK, it's a good idea, but there are a lot of better ideas. I'd rather play GunGame than run around with one bullet and a knife, even if GG is harder to play, and maybe because of that.
