BF:BC2 key server issue

I bought the game 2 days ago and ever since the download finished I haven't been able to even open it due to an error message:
#steamUI_joindialog_keyrequestpending_text

Also when I try to find out what my CD key is I get another message: Failed to contact key server.

Please help with this I just want to play the game :)

P.S.-Iv'e tried all the solutions in the stickies given already.

I have the same problem like you. I write to the Steam Support their solution was: (in german)

They simply said that i have to remove the game from my HDD and download the game files again.
I tried it but i have the same problem again.

I am having the exact same issue. Did either of you get your issue resolved ever?

I have been searching forums everywhere and they suggest that this issue stems from steam not having enough CD-keys and is only a temporary issue until steam gets more. If that is the case than both of you likely can play the game now, I am curious if thats true.

well apparently my steam account has been disabled now so I guess i'll never know if it was resolved.

Having exactly the same issue here. Purchased the game yesterday and haven't been able to play at all due to the CD key error you mention. I should have just popped to the store and got it more cheaply and without the hassle. Come on valve what's going on? Surely you shouldn't be selling the game if you don't have CD-Keys for it.

Even just some sort of acknowledgement that there is a problem would do. No wonder people end up pirating games.

It's only a problem of the Cd-Keys, i startet Steam yesterday, clicked on "Start" and it works. So you have to wait till Steam purchases new keys, im sorry because i know how it is to wait for the Fckin keys.
