OP I think your right, this game looks like a COD clone, I guess that's the best the makers could come up with.

I'm very pessimistic, but I think the multi-player will never really take off and everyone will forget the games single-player within a month at most ...

lol ok you can go back to COD now, I mean seriously rly? CoD doesn't have vehicles for one and I'll end that there. Its nothing like CoD.
At least you could say its like BF.
Anyway ya Frontlines didn't sell so well, I played on 360 while having a excellent community there, KAOS dragged their feet with the DLC for 360 and by the time it finally came out too many ppl left and I had kinda lost interest even though I really liked the game.
But it all depends on how good the game will be and we dont know, Im pretty confident about KAOS studios I really think they know how to make a fun MP from their previous work with BF2 on PC and FFOW. FFOW wasn't without its issues but overall it was a lot of fun to me.
So far I'd say this game looks more polished the FFOW was which was really one of the main issues I had with FFOW.

Actually, it looks exactly like CoD with vehicles. Adding vehicles to a CoD clone doesn't turn into something new and original. It just turns it into a CoD clone with vehicles.

The studio wasn't formed till 2006. BF2 came out in 2005. THQ hired the people that did the mod Desert Combat for Battlefield 1942.
I haven't heard anything good about Frontlines. So if they base this game off that, it's not going to be good.

I think it wont die, simply because its better, and have better promotion\support than Frontlines: Fuel of War!
Also, there is nice XP\Battle Points earning system, that will keep players interested.

I know all about Battlefield 2 it's the greatest modern military FPS ever made, DICE forever!;)

This game doesn't remind me of CoD but a Valve game. I'm looking forward to the personal interaction in this game. As I couldn't care less about the MP I don't care if it's MP is alive a month after release or not.
As for support, Kaos put out 4 massive patches for Frontlines and their patch servers are still active currently. I know as I still run the retail version and reinstalled and played though it again not 2 months ago.

ARMA2 is probably better as the "greatest modern military FPS" as it is the spiritual successor to Operation Flashpoint, both games have been used by the military to run training simulations so they are very realistic in terms of the military use

Frontlines failed cause 90% of players couldn't connect to servers for like a month. By the time it was fixed, everybody was gone. Besides that, the game was great! Let's hope the same thing doesn't happen to Homefront.

You are correct about Arma 2, it is the greatest modern military simulation available to the public. But it is not an FPS, it is a simulation; COD is a arcade game when compared to Battlefield 2, and Battlefield 2 feels like an arcade game when compared to Arma 2.
I have to admit that I was actually thinking of Arma 2 when I was writing the prior post about Battlefield 2.

Frontline's major flaw was the slow pace of support in multiplayer and the hit boxes varied from time to time. I hope Kaos learned from its mistakes, especially in a very saturated genre.

Fail? CoD clone? I suppose you saw this game on the store, saw it was an FPS and came to the forums to post about how it's a CoD clone.
If ANYTHING it's a Battlefield clone. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

The link some of you are trying to make between kaos and bf is like saying since Lamborghini has ties with Volkswagen, that every Volkswagen will perform like a Lamborghini.
Both scenarios are absolutely wrong.
Independent developer, big house developer have different priorities.

Yet you respond anyways.
I didn't pretend to know your interests (nor could I give a ♥♥♥♥ about what you like either).
But it's clearly more influenced by Battlefield than CoD. Learn that shooter DOES NOT necessarily equal CoD automatically. There are other shooters out there.

I think this game will have mp life for the next 8 months. The threats to it from a mp persepective are:
Crysis 2 - althought this threat may be short lived (go read their forums)
Brink - this game is looking really good so far, but is a new IP so it's unproven
Red Orchestra 2 - my 2nd most anticipated game for 2011, looks outstanding but RO1 was such a niche game that it's hard to say how big of a player it will be
BF3 - my most anticipated game for 2011, I believe this game will be the nail in the coffin for Homefront - play style is too similar and BF3 will just crush it in terms of graphics, gameplay, and scope.
And of course the current mp games with large player bases such as COD and BC2 will continue to drain the mp pool.
Has a lot of competition, but I think it will do fine. It really has the "large-scale maps with many vehicles" genre to itself until BF3 arrives.

Good memory. I forgot about that. I knew I loved the game, but couldn't for the life of me remember why it died so quickly. Yeah, buggy launch preventing people from playing doesn't bode well for the mp life of a game.

Here let me help Chris. Look up Desert Mod (the original BF2) and Trauma Studios. Then read who Trauma became and then rethink your original statement.
