Everyone knows that there are cheaters in games. PB usually ends up getting updated enough to catch most of them.

Please suggest a viable alternative.
Cheat detection and prevention is an uphill and reactionary battle, PB has a few tactics they set inplace initially and grow there software suite from there... but if you think you've got understanding, experience, and that brilliant idea that noone else has thought of for ridding the world of hackers...

Pretty blatant, Report the player to www.evenbalance.com (I think you can even link this video), and move on with the gaming. The fact that somebody thinks playing with an aimbot is fun, is a particularly depressing thought...

Well, the math calculations for where to aim really fast and simple. Depending on how the cone of fire is implemented, it may even be possible to get perfect accuracy out of a gun. (I sure hope DICE didn't implement a client-side conefire system...)

There is no "cone of fire".

There is a kick and recoil system that pushes the gun up and down and around if you sustain fire. That value is randomish, and that random value is seeded by the server every time you enter a new server.

This is the reason why several aimbot and recoil removers have troubles with putting up consistent accuracy. The seed value from the server is never the same, so the bots have to guess what it is.

they said they ban on exploit and when the exploit that that user is added they and others using that exploit will be banned

everyone thinks its such a big deal that they caught a hacker on video. anyone with half a brain knows they are out there and just goto another server when they encounter one. i dont know whats worse the hacker of the mindless noobs that come crying to the forums everytime they encounter a hacker. these type of posts ure USELESS all they do is become ♥♥♥♥♥ sessions and every noob comes out of the woodwork crying his/her story about encountering the HACKER. then you get people like your self who dont have anything to say when someone like myself disagrees or has an alternate viewpoint. other then saying they must hack as well. your reading skills must not be very good beacuse i never said there wernt hackers in FPS games and never implied that either. i will say i have over 700 hrs in BFBC 2 and play exclusively on Punkbuster protected servers and can count the number of hackers i have encountered on one hand. if i see one i just move onto another server. its not that hard. people say VAC is better than PB and vise versa they both have thier merits personally i prefer Punkbuster i feel vac takes too long to ban a hacker. punkbuster can catch them all but gets the majority and its instant.
the main point i was getting at is that this is the STEAM forums not evenbalenc not punkbuster and not VAC posting about a hacker here isnt going to do any good its like complaining about safari in the windows forums.

VAC doesnt ban BC2 ... Punkbuster and/or Admin bans not VAC.

The OP was crying about how terrible PB is. The only real alternative is VAC. VAC is just as bad, if not worse.
