HLDS Problem...Pls Help :(

I want to host & customize a dedicated server using AMXMOD X of CS 1.6 for LAN play.I haven't purchased CS,so is it possible to host a server without purchasing CS? If yes then pls tell me how? I have AMXMOD X & all other plugins needed.I tried once.I installed needed files for HLDS via HLDS Update Tool,but when i tried to launch HLDS,it came up with this error, "FATAL ERROR:file read failure."
Please help me.

Thanks a lot buddy.I have a little problem.After hosting my dedicated server of cs 1.6(AMXMOD X),auto buy keys(f1,f2) are not working also there is switching problem.I have to manually switch among weapons before able to switch with key 'Q'.It happens after every round.Any idea>???

first of all checke the binds for F1 and F2 have been alterd if not then go to
\Steam\steamapps\Your_account\counter-strike\cstrike
and delete autobuy.txt and force check a integrity of the game.


and for the fast switch as far as I know it have always been like that you could try cl_fastswitch 0 or 1 but i dont think its that your asking about

there is no fast switch command in amx as far as I know and if there is you should be asking in there forum not here. and if you use a non steam version I cant help you. buy the game and you wont have so much trubble
