View Full Version : Level 18 Hide and Seek (once again broken)

I read the thread on level 18 and instead of performing thread necromancy (as that sometimes doesn't bring enough attention to the issue) I decided to start a new thread to re-address the issue.

The AI seems to have once again started building defense trees from the get go making it impossible to capture the first asteroid. Your entire force (being weak around the gills to start with) are either completely obliterated or are completely consumed trying to take over the asteroid. I've tried different timings and successfully had taken over the asteroid by sheer luck. Of course when this happens, A minute later before I am able to recuperate any kind of defense/attack force, I am attacked by an army of 50+ Max stats OR all remaining colors will attack me full forced.

I have already:
1. checked for updates
2. tried waiting for message for the "okay" to flee
3. Tried all forms of timings before the message.
4. Waited for the appropriate time to attack other asteroids.
5. Planted defense trees WITH two laser Mines.

All off these have ended in failure until ONE miraculous time where the AI decided to completely self destruct at the get go (by flinging themselves at each other), finally allowing me to complete the level.

I'm not saying it's always IMPOSSIBLE, I'm just saying for a game that's based on strategy there should be a slim chance of winning each time at least. I know it's not the intention, but a complete shutdown almost zero chance of winning by random draw is very discouraging.

We actually agree, the level slipped through in too harsh a state, and have fixed it since. The fix will be included in the next patch.

Please be aware though that you can change the game type to "classic" in the menu, and that will allow you to play a more mellow version of the level, without any penalties. No need to get stuck on it!

We actually agree, the level slipped through in too harsh a state, and have fixed it since. The fix will be included in the next patch.

Please be aware though that you can change the game type to "classic" in the menu, and that will allow you to play a more mellow version of the level, without any penalties. No need to get stuck on it!

Tried it about 40 times(not joking). Then tossed it into classic and beat it on try 2.

I beat the level on first try today, so I don't think it's broken.

There is a luck element to beating it. If the AI that attacks at first initially builds a defensive tree, you will lose. After that the randomness of flowers plays a big part in deciding the winner. I am stuck on this level in dark matter mode. No matter what I do one of the AIs chooses to attack me with its initial troops before I can build up enough to defend my self. I have tried counter attacking when they attack, but their defensive structures do too much damage and some of their troops return and finish me off.
Has anyone beat this level in dark matter mode since the latest patch? Any advice?

We do have a fixed version of this level but are swamped with work. I'll see If I can make it available soon.
