View Full Version : What I hate about PVP

The cry baby who gripes about Ganking. Seriously, I am already sick of seeing it. We all know the reality of things here on PVP. Ganking happens. Expect it. Deal with it.

I don't mind the "DAMNIT! I was ganked by a level 20!" That is fine.

What I cant stand is the beating of the dead horse by the person that continues after. Verbally abusing the other sides player about being a weakling for picking on low levels, sucks at pvp, and tard.

Pardon me you do realize that we do it back right?

So before any of you roll on PVP: Instead of complaining repeatedly about the ganker. Get on /shout and say this.

"I need help with this level X player killing me at X location"

That is it. Your main complaint should be where is your people if you can't get help. This is how pvp is supposed to work.

Someone taking you out repeatedly. Your first reaction shouldn't be to cry and moan for 5 min. Get on shout and ask for assistance. More than likely someone may answer your call.

As for level differences. What a laugh. I am no super pvp uber leets. Yet at level 8 I had killed many people over my level. Highest so far was a level 14 who did get a drop on me.

I didn't cry when I was owned the 3 times I was jumped last night. I went back and beat them down or used shout to get assistance.

Most of the time I wooped on them, due to experience. Block and block breakers...learn them.....it can turn a fight is all i can say. It is how i owned most ambushers 9 out of 10 times last night.

anyway...take this in consideration if you are joining PVP.

Love Warfang @ Death and Glory Villain!

...Or you can be a big boy and ignore the idiots spamming the chat box. Not sure what you were expecting in a PvP-enabled super hero MMO. Refined gentlemen drinking vintage wine at their mahogany computer desks?

I must be confused. I thought this was a forums to have a discussion. I guess being logical and constructive would assist in making it most easy to have a chat, I guess I was wrong.

See, I learned long ago to feed off their tears and rage.

Nothing brings me more joy than the player who goes on a tirade after I gank them. It's like ambrosia.

Knowing that I had a negative emotional impact on another human being is like... I can't describe it. It's honestly better than sex for me.

If I had to choose between sex and making someone cry/nerd rage, I'd take the latter every time.

There's this video on YouTube of this mildly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kid having a nervous breakdown on a TF2 server because some girl won't add him as a Steam friend and I swear to you that watching that movie produces more joy in me than anything that has ever happened on this earth. I can't even watch the whole thing at once, I have to pause and take breaks else I may actually just melt into a pool of ecstasy.

My point was that there is nothing you can do to stop the morons who cry about being ganked from crying. It's a fact we all have to accept when we play these MMOs.

Try having a laugh at the guy's expensive instead of getting angry. Makes the inevitable spam easier to deal with.

Completely different topic but semi related. :D

I am talking about my own faction crying though. I little different. I just hope that someone who comprehends my post that has not rolled pvp yet, considers the tip on shouting for help vs. beat the dead horse of crying.

Not complaining about Ganking, i do it too when given the chance its part of being on a Pure PvP server SO IS DEALING WITH WHINERS, take your own advise DEAL WITH IT. So before any of you roll on PVP: Instead of complaining repeatedly about the Whiners. STFU and play.

Please do be a bit more clear then, I do not mean to be so short with you then if this is what you were trying to convey to me.

Oh I am not raging at all. I am just starting a topic which starts of with one of my negative experiences adding in a constructive tip for others. Maybe someone will start suggesting it to others in game to.

I don't wish to put down X player in my faction for crying. I do try to interject some sense when the crying gets excessive.

I hope to influence the shout chat by doing so. Saying things like I earlier posted in the tip. To ask for help and give me a location. I think if us regular joes like you and I do that vs put them down. We can mold a player to maybe ...just maybe start asking for gank help vs cry so much. It may spread to be the normal reaction if more people see others do this.

You can still feed off the tears caused by others.

It's like scavenging.

LOL, you are sadistic. I would prefer to influence knee jerk cryer to seek help from us in shout. But I understand your craving of others misery bringing you joy. ;)

The way this thread was started I knew it would inspire a fight.

As I read it, it was written by a person who wants to seem pro and all knowing, and then hiding that wish behind a common truth;
Arguing about being ganked on a PVP server is stupid. Its a PVP server.

Btw im on a PVE server. At first I thought it was a mistake, but now I think it was okay.

I am thoroughly confused about this part. What part about my initial post was hiding behind a common truth?

I simply stated the thing that was annoying in shout chat. And suggested a constructive way to deal with it.

I also provided an example of my evening ...I died..I killed. I shouted for assistance (and got it). Proving the point that instead of crying one should first seek help in shout.

So where am I hiding behind some truth or being all knowing. I do have experience from the first wave of CB testing, that does count for something. Meaning I have enough experience to provide some helpful tips to. The part with the block and block breaking was the experience speaking.

I also shot down the cryers argument about level differences being an issue. It's not that great of a difference. Challenging yes. Impossible to kill someone nearly double my level..no.

Only got ganked once, five minutes later Mr. Freeze (well, actually it was Mr. Froze) and his league stood next to me and ganked the ♥♥♥♥ out of this guys.

Random teamwork works great in this game.

Yah I have to concur on this. That did dominate last night. A lot of players banding together to help each other. That's a big plus seeing how the community is reacting and working together.

Now if I could only influence those to shout down our cryers to first seek help...I think the community can mold into more of a team work environment vs a barrens chat ahem. :o (wow reference)

You are guilty then of your own accusations. In a public forum he was posting his response. He has the freedom to reply as he likes as do you.

Maybe you failed to see the perceived tone I received from his first post. Simply being a smart-alic in his reply. So I gave a smart-alic reply back.

I accused him of nothing. I did get smart back and guilty of it. Also indirectly apologized soon after he cleared up what he was trying to say to me.

Now back on topic...

We can deal with our Shout whiners 3 ways:
1. Ignore it (default reaction by most)
2. Put them down and be mean.
3. Be actually nice to them and suggest they shout for help so we can assist them.

I am suggesting option 3. It is rarely something I have seen in other games for a while. I was hoping others would see this logic as a great way to influence the early development of our server communities.

Get started on a better foot by not putting him down, instead try to give him an alternative way to deal with it. I honestly believe if more of us chose #3 vs 1 or 2...we can influence our community to follow suite ..that is what it all boils down to in my intentions.

I have to admit that I was a bit surprised while researching if I should get the game. Was going between forums and YouTube and actually saw/heard several people complain that they died on PvP servers...

I agree a bit with the OP that it got me thinking in a similar way after a while. PvP = you will die, you probably get ganked but the sweet revenge is all yours for the taking afterwards :D

I am happy to hear that the community is willing to help each other. Count me in when the game is downloaded and everything is ready to play ;)

I find stop drop and roll works well if someone tries to gank you, unless they have an apt controller you can roll away until the get bored and run off. Or you roll into a squad of your own team.

Saved me a few times when I was jumped starting out by level 15s.

Except calling people cry babies and such is not constructive. "simply stating" doesn't take like 12 paragraphs, either. You were being pretty obnoxious. Not that I care.. in fact, I'll never be in this thread again in my life, I'm sure. Just pointing out the facts. I can totally understand why people would be perplexed at this topic. You just come off like you're trying to sound like Joe Cool. Maybe you didn't mean for that, I don't know. But, that's how you sound.

I do this all the time. Mouthing off at the enemy is something I do. So when I see a bunch of so called super heroes/villains ganging up on a single lower level target, you bet I am gonna tell all about it in chat ... whether its me or someone else. Besides, level and numbers might be of interest for those who are ready to rush in and aid.

It is not whining it is reporting loyally to our society about what the other side is doing and where. What is really annoying is to get some kind of retort that "stop whining we do the same to them". That's about the most counterproductive chat trolling there is. How about "those bastards, i'll be right there and kick some ♥♥♥ with you".

So next time you see this in chat, instead of wasting time on some stupid counter-whine, head into the fray and fight!

There are multiple PvP servers, each one is identified on the server selection screen as soon as you launch. Most people choose the same server their Real Life friends are on. If you have no Real Life friends playing the game...

It's speculative. The game has been live for two days, you're not going to see any official stats about that published for quite a while yet. I think it's a fair statement that, so far at least, the villains far outnumber the heroes on the PvP servers. I also think it's fair to say that, so far at least, players under 18 far outnumber players over 18 on the PvP servers, and that may have something to do with why there are so many villains. :)

What do you call someone who just ranted over and over about getting killed and keeps going? A cry baby. Spin this all you want but the fact remains cry baby=whiner ..and that is what he was doing.

And let's just say for the sake of argument. What is so wrong with sounding like joe cool anyway? No it was not on purpose either but so what.
