Yes i read that also..
It's okay for me that Xbox users get the DLC's earlier, but 1 more map on release wich the PC does not get?? I dont know...

It is not only about that 1 map, it is about the slap into the face. Why not putting a note into every gamebox which says: If you want to play, get a XBOX.

Well, they didn't bother to make a trailer for the PC version or at least to take off the Xbox logo appearing in the end. Something tells me the PC version is going to be an afterthought with all the consequences of such an approach like the lack of support and patches, for example.

You're surprise the PC version is getting shafted for the 360 version? Hi, welcome to the world of PC gaming, you must be new.

At this case, it is not only the pc version but the ps3 version too that get shafted. But if the pc version is a good port that run well on all computers without bugs then there is no problem!
That's interesting. I am under the impression the industry trend is moving away from consoles and towards the PC. Everyone I know has moved to the PC, and Steam in particular.

The industry is not moving away just taking note of each group. With the technology moving the way it is TV's work great with high end PC's. ♥♥♥♥ I play on mine running a high end media center with a I7 and a 570's in SLI. Games look amazing and I get the best of both worlds. I can play games exclusive to the console and then those I enjoy on the PC.
The industry realized they can cater to both PC users and console and benefit. So if you can afford it build a system dedicated just for gaming on your HDTV. And if your buying a new LED 3D TV get ready for some amazing game play. You will find nothing better then to game on a monster TV. One thing I suggest is finding a stand that is slanted. If you can't just build one like I did so you can have the mouse and keyboard right in front of you. Oh and before I forget games sound so much better through a X-fi sound card and a nice receiver.
PC gaming was in a decline but not anymore. We just need every game dev to get back on board.
And HOMEFRONT is a joke along with THQ and KAOS. They are a two companies that will screw the PC gamer just like they did with FRONTLINES Fuel of War. A game that had so much potential but they let it die before it even got started. They will do the same with this one, just you wait and see.
I haven't been interested in any of the console exclusive titles. For PC ports of console games, I hookup my PC to the TV and use a few wired Xbox360 controllers.
I don't see a need for game consoles anymore. I've sold off most of my games and accessories and the consoles have been collecting dust for the past few years.
Consoles still greatly outsell pc titles. Consoles have less piracy and more control/drm for developers.
PC sales are slumping and hardcore gamers use the statistics from a single source/game to back up their argument for being superior.
I haven't owned a console in a decade. I'm a solid pc gamer who hates console ports. But I have no problem accepting the fact that we are in second place when it comes to the general pool of developers.
Would I like for that to change? HELL YES! It just requires people to boycott certain games/developers for the industry to take notice. But every boycott I have seen, MW2/Black Ops as one of the latest, always fail. The 1000-10,000 that actually hold their word are nothing in comparison to the millions that purchase the game and the infinite herd of new gamers jumping on either the console or pc for the first time.
It takes getting suckered into purchasing crap a few times before you are able to spot filth like Homefront before it is even released.

Consoles have even more piracy and active pirates, but if you have no exposure to reality I can understand the misconception.
The only difference between consoles and PC is the control of content. Consoles pay out big bucks for DLCs, while free mods (user-created content that is more often than not better than DLCs) are expected on the PC.

PC players expect expansion packs(+6-10 hours of gameplay)
PS3-Xbox 360 players expect PDLC (+0-2 hours of gameplay)
Hours based on FPS genre
RPG Genre is way different and more equalized

Piracy figures have never been released to the public and even government authorities from several countries (including the US) have already stated that the few numbers that see public light are over estimated and have no solid basis. many developers says PC is easier to pirate yet if you search on the internet for pirate copies of games that are both on PC and Xbox360 the top results are for Xbox360 copies.
Truth is we will never know which platform has more piracy but i can tell one thing for sure, piracy is not the reason why devas likes consoles, it’s easier to make games for consoles since all the hardware is standardized and because the console players are mostly casual gamers that doesn’t care about the quality of the end product and see these games as disposable so Devs doesn’t have to break their backs trying to get THE perfect game. Meanwhile PC games requires more QA to ensure the game will run fine in most of the possible rigs, and the PC players usually demands a higher level of service and quality
Ohh and BTW, Nintendo has sold over 24 million WIIs so far which makes it the most sold console nowadays (the numbers I have are kind of old but actuals should be near) meanwhile Steam has over 30 million active users. We can then easily say that the PC is the largest videogame platform so “Percentage wise” piracy is way far from be more rampant on the PC

On Xbox exclusives
Microsoft pay well for getting content early
Microsoft pay well for getting the xbox logo at the end of every trailer
So even the best game in the world would be daft not to take the money (unless like BF3 you are developing on the PC)
On Piracy
I don't believe the level of piracy increases or decreases for anything. Some people pirate, some don't it is unlikely to change.
In terms of demographics it's more likely to get higher piracy on consoles as the target audience has less disposable income
It is near impossible to get numbers from piracy without bias. I own Spore, but have downloaded an "alternative" version as I got caught out by "number of installs" as I frequently blat my OS - Thus I count in the piracy figures, but am not pirating the game
On PC gaming
Steam don't release sales figures so you have no idea how many PC sales are made (publicly)
Wow has over 1 million subscribers all paying £10 per month plus £30 per year for the new expansion which is the same as 5 million game sales for WOW alone!!!
On Homefront
The game looks awesome
it has a separate PC dev team, and they have made the Desert Combat mod so get respect in my book
Wait to see what people say if you are worried.
This and Section 8 prejudice look like the only new games worth playing until BF3 (and after if it bf3 sucks)
as Section8 is sci-fi, this is the only worthwhile military shooter.
If it lasts me until BF3 I will be a very happy man
If they bring out mod tools etc, I may even skip BF3 all together as I love custom content for games

From the first sticky'd thread:
"What’s with the Microsoft deal, why are they getting the extra map and DLC first? What happened to PC?
We’re trying to release a brand new IP in a really competitive space, and we need as much help as we can get to drive awareness for this game. Microsoft came to us early on, loved what they saw, and offered a ton of marketing support. That support will help lift the profile of all three formats. Having them say; We love the game, it looks great & we want to support it – is also a great morale boost for the studio, and really validates all the effort going into the project.
But this is a business right, and you never get something for nothing! Given the fantastic level of support we’re getting from them, offering an extra map and an exclusive window on DLC in return seemed like the best thing for Homefront"
At least they're being upfront about it. Untwist your panties now ladies.

When I wrote this, there was no sticky.
But, why I am not allowed to tell the publisher what I think about his strategy?
I was looking forward to Homefront. Now I tell them why I don't care any more. I could just silently not buy it. Then they will state and claim that PC is a bad platform to release your games to maybe.
I tell them why, so they know it and cannot blame piracy afterwards.

This has to do with politics.
M$ states all the time that they support PC as Gaming Platform.
So this is a shooter. Shooter are more native on the PC than on XBOX. Why don't they stick their "Windows Gaming" Sticker on it and promote it for PC? I tell you: they have to milk their cashcow 360 instead and emberass the PC as Platform.
And thats what I don't like.
I also predict that Homefront will be very consolized like most other Games nowadays. No more mouse in menus, just keyboard, floaty jumping and unprecise aiming and so on.
But we will see when the first tests for PC come in.
And I write this, because I actually was a fan for this title.
But I don't care buying it any more. But I will also NOT play it any other way.
This is all about politics and this is my vote.

Consoles get more attention and promotions because they need it. There is more competition in the console market. Generally the console communities are either non-existent or weak. The promotions and "Play it on Xbox" endorsements are not a sign that PC gaming is dying, but that console support is fickle. The reason we don't see "Play it on PC" is because PC is stronger than consoles, they don't need to convince PC communities or dangle a carrot in front of us. We're (usually) smarter and more mature for those elementary school tactics to work anyway.
The PC version of Homefront is actually pretty different than the console version, it actually has quite a bit of work to differentiate the two, more than most multi-platform games can claim. The problem isn't just the superficial features, though, as designing a game for consoles is a fundamental difference that can carry over. That's why I'm particularly happy to see console players suck at playing Homefront again and again. It shows the fundamental design of the game doesn't really carry over to consoles that well. The extent of that fundamental design will be fully analyzed once we play the game.

o Ace: Allows for the best maneuverability, but takes the most practice to master.
o Veteran: Balanced difficulty and maneuverability.

Less piracy my ♥♥♥ you clearly dont know what your talking about, xbox 360 simply pirate their games from the same place as PC users does, but PC is restricted to singleplayer almost anytime, xbox 360 users can play online easily with a modded xbox 360 with almost everyone has today, as you said there are more xbox 360 users so there are more modded xbox 360 games wich works online.

Correct, but they have stated 64 player maps could be a possibility in the future.
Servers could also prob be modded to have 64 players but as they have said too, that wouldn't be good for the maps as it would end up being to dense with players/vehicles.

Wishlist? I use that to mark any game I have the slightest interest in lol. Even if I don't plan to buy it =p.

There's extra support for the PC here, I really don't see how people can hate for the timed DLC when we've got other things to play with.

PC versions of hybrid games almost always get the shaft one way or another. Just remember, consoles can't touch the PC when a game is actually designed FOR the PC and then downgraded to run on the consoles. So what if they're giving a bit of extra to the console players, the game will be much better overall for those playing it on the PC.
I can't stand consoles, but my son plays a lot of shooters on his PS3, while very good both in playability and visuals (on his 32" HDTV), I'll take my 22" LCD PC versions of those shooters any time. So let the xboxers have an extra map, it won't make up for all they're lacking.
P.S. PC gaming will never die, no matter how many times, year after year, false prophets try to convince the world it is.

It is just one map, and I think it is a small map.
PC users don't want small maps!

Correct, but they have stated 64 player maps could be a possibility in the future.
Servers could also prob be modded to have 64 players but as they have said too, that wouldn't be good for the maps as it would end up being to dense with players/vehicles.
Well if that's the case, I sure hope they design larger maps for dlc. I do not want 64 players crammed into a 32 player map. I don't understand why people think that is fun.
