You know those various messengers like Ebuddy (http://www.ebuddy.com/) that allow instant messaging? Well why not have on for steam? That means at internet cafes, work computers, school laptops, ect can let you talk to your steam buddies. Do a similar thing to Ebuddy (http://www.ebuddy.com/) or Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/).

Steam already has instant messaging.
If your friend is online, you can instantly send them a message.

I think he means in-browser, not whilst running Steam.

I would feel a bit insecure in using my steam username & password on a random PC from a net cafe.

Why would the Steam messenger not be enough for you? 99% of the time I have no idea who the people on my friends list are in real life; I would NOT want them being able to reach me while I'm not online.

Lots of similar instant messaging applications are available for social chit chat but for the business purpose, I believe on CD Messenger. One of the multi featured instant messaging software for inter office communication.
