Controller required?

I just downloaded the demo, but I can't get past the initial screen presenting a paper drawing of a controller. I can move the mouse around, but can't click on anything, and none of the keyboard keys seem to do anything. Does this game require a controller?

Where did you get the demo? The game defaults to the keyboard by all the reading I've seen. I know a controller "can be" used, didn't hear anything about a requirement.

The game supports mouse+kb, but I assigned controller buttons anyway. Is there no way to just cancel it? Press Esc? Do you have a controller plugged in?

Not sure what's wrong then. I verified the game files too and they were fine. I'm stuck staring at this page 1/20 with a drawing of a controller, but nothing works except moving the cursor about the screen......

Do you have a controller plugged in?
That was the ticket. I have a joystick plugged in, so it wanted to assign my keys to it. I went through the process then just went and switched to keyboard & mouse in the settings. Should work now. :D

Controller support is nice, though. I've been playing a lot more games with a 360 controller lately. KB/Mouse rules for FPS's, but some games are as good or better with a controller.
