Game crashed my pc and is in german?

hi guys

i have just finished downloading the game and started to play. first thing i noticed is the game talks to you in german or something.

also when i tried to start online play the pc froze and crashed. had to reset my pc.

i am not going to even bother trying to play again untill a patch is made.

At first, I noticed that too - I assume you mean once you get into the game (eg talking to NPCs)?
This is somewhat intentional - I noticed as I talked to the NPCs as I walked towards the tutorial they sounded German/Scandinavian/whatever, until I noticed that there were words that definitely are NOT from those languages.

Think of it more like Simlish. You've got the text boxes saying what's going on, and by putting the game in a non-language dialect, it means they don't have to try and do voice acting for every region.

Can't speak for your PC crashing, as I've not yet tried online play. (I'm still in the process of sorting out some issues I've had with my mouse, first and foremost.)
Anyway, don't stress out over the language - I can't say for sure, but I think it was a deliberate move on their part to give the whole 'European-style Fantasy RPG' feel without going too overboard with un-necessary (and often irritating) voice acting.
