Title. Which will you be getting? Personally I'm going with the 3DS (initially, at least; I'll probably end up getting both,) as it seems to have more promising games than the NGP.
So, yeah, SPUF OT; which handheld will you be getting, if any?

I have the feeling the NGP is going to cost so much I'd be afraid to take it anywhere, defeating it's purpose as a "portable".
I plan on getting the 3DS around launch, though it's initial launch titles aren't anything spectacular.

That's my main, fear, actually. I think they'll fail to learn from earlier pricing failures and put the tag out of reach for most people.

Neither. Plenty of life in my dsi yet.
The 3ds. Im not going to buy into a new product when there is still a risk it may turn out to be an underused and expensive gimmick. Plus there are fare to many rehashes of old titles in the launch line up for my liking.
The psp2. Never much cared for psp, especially with yet another "sony" storage medium. Look what happened with the umd's before. And I find it hard to believe that it is as powerful as a ps3. People need to cut through all the marketing nonsense, wait a while to see how it develops and then take a look if interested. Thats usually my strategy.
Early adopters often pay through the nose and get paid back with buggy software and faulty hardware that lacks forcasted features. So many times they pay extra for the dubious honour of literally being a beta tester, even after the product is supposedly ready. Screw that.

3DS. Will be more innovative (as Nintendo always are) more generally fun for all the family (as Nintendo always are) and I've heard it will have much more support from games devs (some of who are leaving Sony dependence in favour of Nintendo's)
And yeah, there's also that cost issue though neither machine are cheap, the 3DS is cheaper and will likely have much cheaper games as usual.

Clearly, the NGP. I always wanted the Neo Geo Pocket.

3DS, its probably gonna have more better games that are also diverse.

I am still going to have to side with 3DS here. While the NGP has Uncharted and other games which I really don't care about, the 3DS has Resi, DOA, OoT, and others. The 3DS just seems to be my go to system here. Probably wait five years an pick one of these up for $100, like I did the original PSP.

Psp 2. 3D is such a ♥♥♥♥ technology, and the 3DS has nothing on it I want to play. My DS has collected dust for literally years.
PSP 2 has Uncharted and Littlebigplanet to keep me entertained as launch titles, as well as maybe playing PS2 games.
No doubt the almighty Monster Hunter will show up on it too.
And this is before the homebrew community break it wide open!

The Psp2 for me, I never owned a nintendo before, not about to start now with the 3ds, gimmick stuff with a lineup of milked games.

PSP2 if the price is right, which it won't be. 3D technology is gimmicky to me, and Nintendo has already warned that prolonged use of the 3DS can cause eye damage. I like to play all of my video games for prolonged amounts of time, rarely ever do I sit down to play for 30 minutes to an hour.

I will get the 3DS Lite in a year with a better battery life and camera.

Nintendo have warned that the 3d could conceivably impare sight development in children under 6 years old.
They have not even said that this is a known problem either and I think in reality, they're just covering their backs as any young child's visual abnormalities may end up blamed on a concern that they were aware of.
It will certainly not damage your eye sight any more than any lcd screen and/or console might.

I'll hold out to see if there's a Wii successor announcement at E3. If not, I'll probably get a 3DS next winter.
I nearly universally go with Nintendo platforms for my non-PC gaming, because that's the only way to get all the franchises I grew up on and still love. And quite honestly, system exclusives are the only value I see in console gaming anymore.
Now this newfangled thing Sony is doing with on the Android platform... I'll probably still look into that since it's related to a multitasking device.

PSP2, I love Nintendo, but my PSP kicked Gameboy SP's butt in terms of my enjoyment level.

I'm undecided now...
Might go with the 3DS just to catch up on several games I'd like to play, such as the newest pokemon games and Ocarina of Time.

NGP..... if it has decent games that is

Both, if they're any good. I mean why complain when you can just buy one and then another one later on? I'd only use 3DS for without 3D mode. The whole 3D thing is really stupid, it's the 'Virtual Boy' all other again.
But it's really early(we don't even know the release date), I'll wait for the prices to come down. And being in Australia a country which all electronic companies despise with a passion, I'll have to wait 6 months more than everyone else for the NGP. Aren't we Aussies lucky?

both. The 3DS is ♥♥♥♥ing 3D and is going to have awesome games just like the DS, and NGP has a ♥♥♥♥ing 5" OLED screen and has beastly internals.

also even that is apparantly a generic industry warning for 3D.

It's a bit more complex than that with 3D, because your eyes need to focus at a different point to where the sight is converging and it's not so natural.

I'll wait for the NGP Slim/Lite version & price drop since that always seems to be some sort of trend with Sony products.
Sony Playstation 2 ~ Playstation 2 Slim & lower price
Playstation 3 ~ Playstation 3 Slim/lite & sig. price drop
Playstation Portable ~ PSP go & lower price

3DS. OOT, Pokemon and Mario in 3D? Hell yeah :D
Nintendo have one crucial edge over Sony: their games are more fun. While enjoying games is a common thing, very few games have made me actually happy to play, and all of them have been Nintendo games.
3DS - though the list of games that are supposed to be ready for the UK launch is rather slim. We've heard really good things from a colleague who had chance to try one out, so I can't wait. :D
