Guys dont expect this game to come out Q1. Q1 use to be on steam, but they removed it. it won't be coming out for a while. and since there will be other games that are actaully coming out soon, i advise you guys to play those, and wait till RO2 comes out and the price starts to drop.

RO2 devs have stated they never gave steam a Q1 release date window, they just said 2011. So steam were the ones who chose to put Q1.

No, it's not another FAIL. Let Tripwire work on the game, there's no need for them to push out a half baked product based on some arbitrary release date that some marketing twithead pulled out of a hat.

Leave that to large corporations like EA and THQ *cough* Homefront *cough* etc.

Just have to get another game to tide you over till then.

Q3, Q4 ?? Really ? the game looks mostly done so why the hell are they dragging it for so long, if they don't release this until April i will be really disappointed and give tripwire a stern talking to.

Specially so close to the other big releases, i don't want that and it won't be good for them either, Q1 is the best period for the release.

lol srsly, if they drag this game on like that. they better not release it with a price tag of 60 + even 50 +. i didnt wait a couple years to wait agian.

Do you know why Blizzard games are still played 10 years+ after release? It's because they refuse to release their products until they are up to their lofty standards. This usually means years of fine-tuning and balancing, but the end result is worth it.

Having a developer being able to develop a game and release when it is genuinely ready is a rare thing, especially these days. You should be grateful when it happens, not have a silly little cry like you've just done here.

Tripwire: take your time...

Pretty cool and everything but the only Blizzard game i ever liked was Warcraft, and that before it was taken over by DOTA off course, don't compare tripwire to a company idolized by it's Hammer Legion Members, their "lofty standards" are not even that good. (Not meant to hate on Blizzard fans, but most of them are like that, honestly.)

I know tripwire is a small developer and everything, but they took a long time already, and that vague release date really makes me worried.

Oh please, it hardly matters if the only Blizzard game you like is Warcraft. Nobody polishes their games like Blizzard do. You may not think much of Starcraft and Diablo, but they are legendary titles. Every one of their games is legendary. The only one that isn't is SC2, and that's because it hasn't had time to reach that status yet.

And I'm not comparing Tripwire to Blizzard, I'm simply holding up Blizz's game making philosophy as a paragon. I simply want Tripwire to approach their game with the idea of not releasing it until they think it is genuinely as close to 100% as possible.

R.O 2 is going to be the arrival of Tripwire into the big league's of PC gaming. The game looks to damn good not to, it's appealing to PC gamers in all the right ways, and in all the ways that have been ignored by the like's of DICE in the last few years. It's up to them not to blow it, and by rushing it to release like you suggest, that's exactly what they'll be doing.

Yea some cool games coming out Q1 but nothing as awesome looking as RO2 HoS! :D Really can't wait till it's released, game of the year imo.

As soon as we hear of a closed or open Beta then we will have a pretty good idea of when the game will come out. That's awesome that Tripwire knows exactly when they will release the game.

My new guess is end of Q2, beginning of Q3 in time for summer (winter here). People will be looking for new games to keep them entertained in their break from school, uni, work. I see that as 'a great time' of the year to release a game. Hmmm

March only is full. January and February are nearly empty so it would be a perfect release window for you (Bulletstorm suck anyway).

I gave up organizing my life and expectations around when these games are supposed to come out..it comes out when it comes out..period..and hopefully the devs use the time alloted to produce a first rate game...so far..it looks awesome..in the meantime, it gives me more time to free up cash to guy a slick fast system to enjoy the game even more..just my opinion, lots more to do in life than worry about game release dates...

Can you post a link showing some gameplay of it I really would like to see what the fuss is about BF3. I loved BF2 but I lost abit of faith in Dice with Medal of Honor 2010. Also they are completly different games you should buy both.

Well that is a bit steep price but i guess they are all trying to set a new standard in PC games price. I will wait to see retail price in UK and EU, but i already know that i am not prepared to pay much more than 20-25€.

In other case i will wait for a price drop and by that time countless reviews and gameplay videos will be available and thus make it much easier to decide if i even want this game. With Natural selection 2 on its way and at least Guild Wars 2 that i will buy for sure i am already positive that i won't be bored in either case. I might also have to squeeze Battlefield 3 in, if all my friends buy it. This is gonna be a tough year.

Plus $50 is for a boxed copy. It might be cheaper for a digital copy. But i don't care of the price anyway. I want to support Tripwire and this game no matter what price they ask (unless it's over $100 :p).

i hope they wont release it around Q4. RO by nature has a smaller following than most other FPS' and it may fly under the radar with high publicity release coming out then.

I'm talking about BF3.

Also TES5: Skyrim is coming out around november.

I wont have enough money to purcahse 3 games in 1 month...:p

July 5th is a pretty probable release date imo. When else should they release it when they are actually afraid of other games like yoshiro stated. Do they want to compete in fall or winter 2011 with BF 3!?! Not really, dont they!?!

The only months left without any other major game release are july, august and maybe early september. As we all know publishers can forget the period of time from mid july to mid september because of summer vacations and hot weather.
So for me very likely it's june or early july.

Not to discredit Tripwire or Red Orchestra, but if they release this title alongside or after Battlefield 3, absolutely nobody will bother buying it. The same's true with any PC FPS.

Battlefield 3 and this do not even compare... why do people keep making the comparison?

BF 3 is really just Bad Company with bigger maps and more players. Plus it's not realistic at all. DICE really can give two sh*ts less about PC btw, remember when they said BC2 PC would get special treatment? Yeah we got special treatment... special ED treatment. BC2 was a pile of garbage and BF 3 will be the same thing.

RO 2 on the other hand is made by a company who cares out their user base (RO got tons of patches with a bunch of free content). RO was/is a great game and RO 2 will be as well.

Completely incorrect, since most gamers buy most major FPS titles, even if they end up playing mostly one of them. That's three mosts in one sentence, beat that.

Which ones? As far as I'm concerned except "Shogun 2" there's absolutely no real game coming out before like September-November. I don't think people who would buy pointless games like Homefront would be interested in RO. But even if they were, most of them would just buy both.

Your real problem is, not many people know about Red Orchestra, I myself just discovered ostfront last December, it was really the game I was looking for when I was trying to fill the void with Battlefield games.
Just release videos and stuff, a demo and you would be good to go, trust me, once I tried Ostfront I didn't want to play any other FPS ever again.

Both are FPS games atheart, alot of people play FPS games.
If you didn't know about RO and randomly found it on steam or at a store right next to a recently released BF3 or COD game, which one would you get?

The one all your friends play or one totally unknown to you?

Releasing it at roughly the same time or after a big title like BF3 would be horrendous for RO2 sales even if they don't exactly cater to the same crowd in terms of realistic gameplay.
