View Full Version : Constant Crashes

Alright. I just recently got the game over the steam sale and I am pretty impressed. My only problem is...it crashes. A large percentage of the time when transitioning in and out of battles (e.g. after a battle is over, or as I am going into one), the game will just decide to crash. It's rather annoying after a long battle to have to repeat it, and I'm not really sure what I can do about it.

Suggestions?

Have the same problem. Installed Saxons DLC, and now it crashes before or after combat, quite often.

Thanks. I haven't actually crashed since updating my graphics drivers to the latest (if you're still having trouble, you should try that). If I continue crashing, I'll check those out.

The only relivant link is the first one and at the time that was posted, that fix did not work.

I reinstalled the game countless times to test fixes that never worked, finally gave up on it entirely. I have made a point of avoiding neocore games because they seem unable to fix things.

This bug has been around for a long time now. Crashing before or after a battle is the common symptom.

shame really because its a game that holds a lot of promise but the bugs and having to play the same battle 5 or 6 times and prey it would let me continue on after wards made me not care what happened during a battle, i just charged at the enemy because i knew the changes where high it would crash at the end.

I really have no patience for problems like that, especially ones that have been around this long.

I hear you. The battle crash is a weird annoying bug. Fortunately for me King Arthur didn't crash after applying the remedy I linked to in the above post. However, the Lionheart game made by the same dev team had the battle-end crash too. That one I couldn't solve on my personal computer. Had to use my wife's PC to play that game.

On a positive note, they're working on KA2 with a completely new game engine so here's to hoping it won't have the same issue. Otherwise the game is superb.

That's a positive note? They should be fixing the damn game we've already paid for!

There's no way I would buy another game from this company if they don't fix the crashing issues in this game...

I figured out what was causing my game to crash. It was the music slide bar. I maxed it out the other day and forgot that I did. Now that it is back to the middle, no more crashes. I know that sounds weird, but it's true. I even tried sliding it one notch above middle and it started crashing again. It's been back at the middle and I've played about 20 battles. Not a single crash lol...

But I do notice that the game acts like it's about to crash but it doesn't. It freezes now and then for about 1-2 seconds but pulls through. I also have graphics set to lowest except physics is set to highest and it's at 1024X768 resolution. Speech and battle sounds are turned down 1 notch, also. I hope this helps someone! Such an awesome game

Same here. constant runtime error crashes. I wish I hadn't bought it. If you were lucky enough to only get King Arthur without the other DLC, stop where you are. Buying more content will not stop the constant crashes. If you haven't bought it yet and are reading this, don't do it. The fact that the game is really as beutiful and fun as they say makes it all that more dissappointing that the frikkin game is unplayable due to constant crashes.
I really hope I can come back and edit this by saying there is a fix and I certainly will if that happens.

I bought the whole Kaboodle, but I wish I had read the forums before I paid for the whole package, because the game crashes constantly despite a new computer with all high-level stuff.(I7, 8GB memory, Win7,ATI HD5750 etc). It is incredible that a game that came out in 2009 is still so buggy...

In win7 type in dxdiag into your search box and the program will show up.

Or just hit "Windows key" + "R" to bring up the "Run" command line.

And type in "dxdiag"

I sent in my dxdiag some days ago, and I am still waiting for a response. BTW the program works fine on my other computer with XP Pro, but crashes on entry into battles in Win 7.
