It's all good mate, it's been confirmed as incorrect. Apparently the same isn't true for the GFWL integration however :S

It's completely false. Unless it's an MMO-style game, GFWL doesn't allow devs to require a constant internet connection for the single player portion of the game.
In fact, past the initial activation, you don't need to be online at all to play (and, unlike steam, you can say no to any update and still play offline without problems).
I already pre-ordered this game (from GamersGate, since they have 10% - 17% off depending on the region and extra $0.25 "rebate"), and can't wait to play it!
