Just Purchased Disciples II Gold Edition

Is there order in which I should play Disciples II Gold Edition games? I have Gallean's Return and Rise of the Elves (I think these are part of the Dark Phophecy series).

Which is the best to start? (I am also just learning the game)

Start with Gallean's return. I recommend the Undead campaign since they are relatively powerful and easy to use.
