About the Game/Beta

Thinking about buying this game but had some questions first.

Do you get Beta access through Steam if I buy now before the release?

What does the Beta consist of meaning is it full access to the game code or just one or two scenarios?

Are there wars and more importantly nuclear threats around the world?

Does the user control a current country or a region of the world or the entire world as one unit?

What are some actions one could take to go postal?

Do you get Beta access through Steam if I buy now before the release?

Yes

What does the Beta consist of meaning is it full access to the game code or just one or two scenarios?

You get access to the Oil Crisis Scenario only. The Beta is a VERY old version of the game however, and is expected to be very different to the final release :)

Are there wars and more importantly nuclear threats around the world?

There are wars in the beta which can be ignored, or you may deploy peace keepers in an attempt to stop the fighting. Nuclear threats are as yet unknown.

Does the user control a current country or a region of the world or the entire world as one unit?

It depends on the scenario. In the Oil Crisis scenario in the beta you can control all the regions, however in the full games "Rise of Africa" Scenario you'll be able to control only the two African regions, while the scenario focusing on the Amazon will give you control of South America.

What are some actions one could take to go postal?

In the Oil Crisis Scenario there are the gene-plagues (alpha,beta,gamma) Each of which destroy a large % of the population in the region. However you will probably get hanged for crimes against humanity. In the full game however the scenario "Dr. Appocalypse" is set to provide a scenario with the aim of destroying the world, So may contain more "destructive" features.
