KNIGHTS

There are three types of heroes: Warlords (red banner), Champions (yellow shield), and Sages (book).

*CHAMPIONS

These are your melee heavy hitters. The main ability you want for them (at first) is CLEAVE and the attached abilities which improve cleave and your regular attack.

The main skill you want is FIGHT (increases HP and Damage), and secondary skills would be MAGIC (for more cleaving) and possibly REIGN (if they are going to be given lands).

*SAGES

Sages cast powerful spells. Useful abilities are Dragon's Eyes (use in fog to make sure your archers have their full range while the enemies have shorter range!) and the abilities attached to it. These are all excellent abilities.

The main skills you want are MAGIC and to a lesser degree FIGHT (you still need HP and Damage, even as a mage). REIGN should also be considered if the sage is a landowner.

*WARLORD

ALWAYS have Warlords as the army leaders! Whereas Champions and Sages are leveled up in a way that benefits the hero, Warlords are leveled up in a way that benefits the entire army group. Your main abilities are MASTERFUL STRATEGIES and the attached abilities. Trust me, these abilities will help you bring down the enemy morale fast, and will prevent you from losing in cases where the enemy has more victory locations to start with (and this is often the case).

Warlords focus on LEADERSHIP and to a lesser degree FIGHT. MAGIC and REIGN take an even lower priority.

GENERAL CONCEPT for KNIGHTS

You want Warlords to be your army leaders, hands down. Sir Kay is your first. You can either have 4 warlords with 4 armies, and each of those armies supported by a sage and a champion, OR you can have 3 warlords leading 3 armies, and have 3 supporting heroes in each army. It's up to you!

Cool tips

I could not find another Warlord :( I only have Sir Kay and Sir Lucan, I went the Rightful/Old Faith path finding mages most of the time :P

You can get an old faith Warlord from the Sir Percival quest. Also, there is a Christian Warlord from the Three Brothers quest or objective, but you have to go talk to him before you conquer a stronghold.

Reign is a bad choice for any Knight. Choosing your liege lords well and marrying them off to a good wife is key (as are artifacts).

A liege lord with +proud briton reigning over the welsh makes that 5% income boost pretty useless :)
